He’ll try new helmets and some other stuff before calling it quits. I think we’re 2 more concussions from retirement.
Then don’t give a him contract if it can’t contain safety provisions that are in the best of the interest of the player
Are you talking about hamlin? If so, a freak accident is different than watching people let a guy repeatedly trot out after multiple major traumatic head injuries only to experience them again.
Tua started and played every single game last season. Can we skip the insincere calls for arrests and/or medical license faux outrage BS?
Malpractice comment aside I’m not even sure that cap helps with that specific hit. His head still rattles inside the helmet. The actual blow to the helmet wasn’t severe
Looked like he was between sliding and putting his shoulder forward irrc. If he fully commits to not diving and positioning himself better I think he’s probably ok. If he slides, he probably doesn’t get the first down.
What happened with the guaranteed money when Luck retired? Different scenarios of course but wondering if they worked out some sort of settlement
It's honestly why I don't like the new dive rule for QBs. Being down on contact with the ground basically forces QBs to always put their head down in must convert situations.
seems like if he has to retire because of this there would be some sort of exception with the potential cap hit for the dolphins.
What the fuck are you talking about? Those calls were made after he was concussed in 2022 then put back in the game and suffered a worse concussion the following week against Cincinnati. If you think that's a safe way to care for a patient, you're a moron.
Our cap is fucked already for the foreseeable future. It is what it is, if he retires and it kills the cap break up the team and restart. Also fire grier for never addressing our dogshit Oline. Sick of that asshole and him constantly ignoring that our Oline is dogshit outside of Armstead. He's a big reason we're in this fucking situation
Great call. He’s definitely healthy enough to play football! This concussion was totally not foreseeable, and neither is the next one if they trot him back out there.
have you paid attention to the nfl before? they do not give a single fuck about the players. never have.
Next you’re going to tell me that cigarette companies don’t care about the health of their customers. Nice try, lib.
for sure. i don't think the players care tho tbh. they're all injected with toradol to the gills before each game
I feel like team doctors are no different than HR at any job. They're only there to make sure the player gets back on the field and protect the bottom line and performance for the team. They're not there to actually protect the player
Tua seems especially bad about getting those “whiplash” / helmet bouncing off the ground hits. I don’t know if it’s the hit or the ground that did it this time, but when they showed the concussion compilation (what an awful phrase) that seemed to happen every time.
I feel like if someone can make a concussion compilation for you it's prob time to stop playing football
he solved that problem after the 22 season by taking jui jitstu classes. He didn't have a single whiplash fall last season. But clearly his brain is in bad enough shape anyway that an innocuous hit can cause a fencing reaction.
I’m really glad our stupid fucking GM felt no need to address this shit for like 5 years. Unless we win a fucking Super Bowl Grier needs to be fired at the end of the season.
He forgot to go back to jiu jitsu lessons after the 23 season and got rusty, and this is what happens
yes, he solved the fact that he would land badly and have his head snap back and hit the grass with the back of his head. He didn't land that way at all last season. Last night's concussion was a result of his head hitting a player's arm in a pretty normal fashion. If you can't see the difference in how he got his first 2-3 concussions and last night, there's no helping you.
