Really liked this as well.
easily his best. i don’t usually like a whole album. this is close.
Justin Townes Earle died
Im intrigued enough to give it a listen
looks better. maybe he figured he's happier not sellingout
This first single is trash. It’s somehow worse than his last album
If it wasnt for his voice he'd be a nobody
Maybe I’m being too critical, but this is very cheesy acoustic country we’re currently plagued with
Wait, his last album was trash?
Edit: yes, you're right. Vol 1 is the shit though IMO
I wouldn’t call the last album trash, but it certainly wasn’t good. Had some good songs, but had some very low quality
well....yeah. But his voice is absurd.
Should really just go back to Steeldrivers music. Thats the good shit
Brent Cobb - Shut Up and Sing
I edited my post. I also don't think it's really country. It's more blues/soul which I fuck with heavy.
I'm pretty much only on him and Tyler Childers these days. I know you don't care and I'm late on Childers.
I’ve long held that he’s a better Blues musician than country.
Feel free to pass along any of your favorite blues musicians/songs. I've gone down the rabbit hole in the last few months.
Steeldrivers Stapleton is his best version. i really caught some flack for saying he over-sang tennessee whiskey, and i still don't understand why it became so popular for him.
Chicks absolutely love Tennessee whiskey, it’s like audible pheromones for them, that’s just my opinion on why.
Couldn't make money off steeldrivers music. I love those albums with him on it
Listened to pretty much nothing but him this week. Heroin fucking sucks. It doesn’t care, it doesn’t discriminate, it only ruins lives or takes them far too early.
This is probably the best country album of the year. Dude sounds like Merle and the music is top notch.
this has my attention
it’s a fantastic album.
Enjoying this album
Yeah been listening to this the last several days. Kind of remind me of American Aquarium in their early days.
Benjamin Tod should be getting more love. He's so good.
Was very excited when I woke up to see Childers dropped a album. He only sings in 1 song though... ugh
A lot to unpack here.
Lotta chuds on Twitter upset about this album lol
I just want to say that this song fucks me up every time.
I’ve been watching the Ken Burns doc and it made me aware that I really need to get to browsing this thread and discover the good contemporary country music. I haven’t listened to much country released post-2010ish other than occasional stops on the radio.
Getting into Patsy Cline's discography
My goodness she's phenomenal
She died where my family is from. Fast fact.
More Americana than country, but think some of y’all might dig this.
My favorite song on the album
Billy Strings is my jam. I was going to see him at Bonnaroo.
Dang, Jerry Jeff Walker passed away tonight
Yep, lots of great HS and college memories with a Jerry Jeff song in the background
Man, fuck this year
Ya’ll just killed my weekend vibe
JJW will be playing on my outdoor speakers all weekend
Who do I need to add to my rotation?
Billy joe Shaver passed
Benjamin Tod for sure.
Just a brutal year for country musicians passing away. Better not take Willie from us.
shut up dumb ass -
this is what happened - woodstock
Just checked him out on spotify, I had no idea who he is but I already had "I will rise" liked from randomly coming across it. Good looking out.
