Mt Bachelor was killer on Saturday. Got up to the lot at 8am and were on the lift at 9:15. Tore a handful of groomers then headed into the trees on Northwest Express and spent the rest of the day running through tree runs and hardly crossing another track that wasn't mine or my buddy's. Bluebird day, put in 28,000 vertical feet which isn't bad considering almost none of it was groomers.

Sunday we rode sleds back by Moon Mountain. Was awesome, if you have never had a chance to go boon-docking in the mountains on a long track sled, I highly recommend you try it out

Was that really what he was pointing out? "No way the guy with the sled happened to be there at that time for him to steal it"

Great shot of Broken Top and the Sisters on that top shot.

(For those that haven't been to Bachelor it's literally a volcano that they turned into a ski resort almost 4000 acres all on one mountain)

You literally get off the lift at the top of the mountain and you can pretty much go any direction 360 degrees. The entire mountain is open all the way around.

Yep, would be one of my favorite ski resorts if the snow wasn't the northwest concrete. But as for the runs they are some of the best. I've only got to go for a weekend : (

Taking the future oz before the end of season though. She's a noob to skiing so I imagine I'll only get in a few really good runs (where I tell her I'll meet her someplace at a time and go off myself)

It's a billion times drier than the snow on the west side of the cascades though. If you can hit Bachelor in the middle of a good cold snap after a storm came through, it can honestly compare to the nice dry pow I grew up skiing in Sun Valley, Brundage, and Bogus Basin.

Was crushing it today. Chased corn snow around Alpine Meadows today. Felt great on the skis and was stomping some features off runs. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Ya know...skiing is skiing. Snow conditions differ greatly from resort to resort and week to week. Typically, I prefer Utah ski resorts because that's where I learned. There's something about the dry powder there that is conducive to an out-of-this-world skiing experience. Nonetheless, every ski resort has its own unique opportunities and ambiance. California, Alberta, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Wherever..give it a try.

my favorite thing to do is to park in the Sunrise lot at Meadows, even getting there 90 mins prior to the lot opening, especially when it's dumping in the parking lot - take the Sunrise Runout trail to the lot and ski right to the door of my vehicle, then sit on the tailgate of my truck while I eat a sandwich and throw the ball for the dog. Catch the shuttle back up to the main lodge, then ride back to the lot when the lifts close, ski right to the truck and reach in to start it up before I even gear down. Nothing better than climbing into a warm heated seat with tennis shoes on after a long day in ski boots

I go main lot of I can, and take Ski Texas all the way to the lot to finish the day at 3pm so I can beat traffic out. Start the car from my alarm fob as I coast up to the car. Thing is toasty as hell by the time I'm out of my boots, pants and coat. Driving shoes for the trip in, and I'm not afraid to wear them into Calamity Janes.

Usually get into the lot an hour early and park right next to the beginner lift. Mostly people tailgating with dogs and kids so it's a chill area. Ride Subway to Round House to get to the mountain, and back down Subway Chair at the end of the day to the car at the end of the snow ramp to the parking lot. Easy in, easy out. Also, came across "The Bakery" the other day out in the trees... Little smoke shack. I need to edit down a pic in order to post and I'll get some more from the inside next weekend.

Hey gents, looking to purchase new skis and was curious if anyone had experience with either of these. I'm really looking for an all mountain ski with a waist between 90-100. I've been doing some research on available options and like the Volkl Mantra's and the Blizzard Bonafide or Brahama. Anyone have any experience with either of these or have any alternative recommendations?

The Mantras are dope. Rode an older pair 3-4 years ago and they charge in all conditions. Blizzard is good, I know people love them, but I've never ridden them. Look into Rossi for wider All-Mountain skis, too. They make some of the best. I still am rocking my old S7s.

CO has been getting good snow this week and more in the forecast next week.

Hitting Keystone tomorrow (they've had about a foot of new snow the last couple days) and hopefully crashing in Breck at a friend of a friend's family vacay house. Then plan to hit Vail Sunday. OpenSnow projecting 9-13" overnight on Saturday at Vail :moar:
