Leaf by Oscar, the Sumatra, has been my new favorite. Was in FL last month and had some time to kill in Winter Park and stopped by a cigar shop where it was recommended. Cool presentation and one of the best smokes I've had in a while. So smooth. Cheap, too.
Been enjoying some Diesel Unlimited Maduro's the last couple of days. Fantastic, bold smoke. Lip-smacking good.
Yeah the leafs are good. Nice little thing having Leaf wrapped around it. Try a similar cigar by them, Island Jim. A little stronger but great
Fuck that. I'll quit before I pay retail prices. Got 20 really nice cigars yesterday from CigarBid for $70 with shipping that would have cost me like 140 in the local shop.
Will be interesting to see. Still can't find anything online about this. Just heard it through people in the biz.
Smoking a Patina Artifact right now, recommended by my guy, and it’s pretty damn good. Had a couple of their Robustos last week and loved them.
We are having a guys weekend at my beach condo. Golf, booze and cigars. Smoking a padron imperial right now
Need Cubans recommendations. My FIL can get pretty much whatever Cubans I want shipped in. I'm a big fan of the Montecristo #2 but would like to diversity a bit in my humidor. Any recommendations for a medium body Cuban?
Fucking Nat Sherman. Piece of Shit cigar. My place is already pulling them off the shelves and getting them out of the stores. Cliffs: Nat Sherman told FDA not to exempt Premium Cigars from the new FDA regulations. https://thecigarauthority.com/parent-company-of-nat-sherman-tells-fda-to-not-exempt-cigars/
Basically all Romeo y Julieta are the same. Don't smoke many Cuban cigars except the Monte #2. So many great non cuban cigars. Try smoking Padron, Olivia, My Father, AJ Fernandez products and you wont love Cubans as much anymore. However Monte #2 is my favorite cigar of all time. You live in Tampa right? Go to Davidoff Lounge near International mall. Amazing selection. In about 2 months, Monte Cristo will be releasing the 4th batch of my second favorite cigar, the Monte Cristo Groupo de Maestro.
I’ll give some of these a shot. Only have a small humidor currently. Upgrading once I buy a new house.
When I first started, being able to buy cuban cigars in back home in Canada, I thought they were so much better. Then you start talking to to knowledgeable people at the stores and they will give you a cigar just as good for a 1/3 of the cost as well.
Just going through the thread again. Was in Philly about 2 months ago. Went to Holt's and the Ashton lounge. Then a couple guys from Philly told me about Twins Smoke Shop. What an amazing group of people there.
Yea I do the same down here. I’ve found some solid hand rolled from a hole in the wall in Ybor City that’s $4 a stick and aren’t the same quality of course but just as enjoyable.
Running a golf tournament. Anyone know the best place/price to get a bulk of cigars? Was going to have them at sign ups as a nice gift and give one free to each golfer, or charge something like a dollar or two for one.
I’ve said it in the other cigar thread, but Rocky Patel’s edge is the only cigar I’ll buy from now on. I’ve tried some many different variations from different price points, countries, types, etc. The Edge was consistently one of the best. Inexpensive as well about $5 for a single. Can get a better deal in bulk. On sale fairly regularly too.
I’ve never been a rocky fan. However the edge is a decent one. Their new one I think it’s the 11 year, orange band, is the best Rocky I’ve had
had a Cornelius & Anthony The Gent robusto tonight with some Johnny Drum bourbon would definitely smoke again
Gents - Looking for some help on an Xmas gift for my Pops. He’s a big cigar guy, has been for a while. He’s got tons of gear (humidors, travel case, lighters/cutters, etc., etc.) and my brother and I have done the cigar clubs of the months and what not a few times. Any thoughts on a cool gift for a seasoned cigar smoker? Looking for something a bit outside of the box I guess.
Have not been meaning to go over there but just never make it. My buddy in college worked at a shop in Charleston that was Davidoff certified and he got 2 free cigars a day so I used to go smoke the hell out of Davidoffs.
It’s also crazy how many celebs I’ve Absolutely amazing spot. Next time I’m at the beach house I’ll message you and grab a cigar
Finally found a box of the Arturo Fuente Short Story Maduros. Excellent quick smoke. Also, that Haut 10 put me on my ass for a half hour even more so than my Punch Double Coronas on an empty stomach.
Well I’m in good company then haha. Did they get easier to find lately? I first smoked one around 5 years ago and could not find them anywhere. Finally went looking again and found them.
My buddy got me into them. He found 2-3 boxes of them several years ago and bought them all for that reason. Sadly, he rarely smoke cigars anymore but has a giant free standing humidor with probably 500 cigars in it with a shit ton of Opus X, various expensive Cuban cigars, etc. I look forward to smoking them when they're 10-15 years aged.
Can't wait for golf season to start up -- humidor has been stocked for months with nowhere for me to indulge.
Haven't had those. I know they're supposed to be some rare tobacco but look pretty reasonably priced at $10 a stick or so.
I have to admit I smoke a lot less than I used to and I don't visit stores a lot, but that is always a go-to for me. Also, if you like maduros more than anything else, you won't love the LT, although they do have a Maduro variety of it that I haven't tried. The LT is the most Cuban-style of the CAOs I've had, which I'm sure is why I like it.
