Myself and 2 buddies from work are trying the yeard (not shaving or cutting hair until Memorial Day 2019). About ready to invest in some beard balm or beard butter to keep this thing under control.
I need a new beard trimmer. Currently working with a $20 amazon version that has held up well for a couple of years but I would like to invest in one that is a little better quality.
I just use my Wahl hairclippers. But I don't trim my beard often. I will edge the top of my upper lip to keep that out of my mouth. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wahl-elite-pro-hair-clipper-black-silver/5191106.p?skuId=5191106
Big fan of Phillips Norelco 7000 I got a couple months ago. Mostly because of how bad I am at evenly trimming different parts at different lengths when I clean it up. Feel like it gets a better even trim with the twist length setter thing than just using a normal trimmer with a guard at whatever setting. Never get the random wtf dig trim where it mysteriously cuts one spot almost bald when doing the jawline/chin area. I also like the self vacuum feature for doing a quick stash or chin trim it sucks damn near all the hair into itself.
My old beard trimmer died about a month ago. I bought a braun mgk3980. So far, I like it a lot. It's $55 on amazon.
beard oil helps a lot but damn the ones I’ve seen are expensive luckily my BIL had one he didn’t like so I got it for free
Woodsman Beard Oil Cedar Scented Leave in Beard Conditioner Keeps Facial Hair Soft and Moisturizes Skin All-Natural Oils Jojoba, Argan and Sweet Almond Essential Oils 1 Ounce Thats what i got on amazon before walmart picked some up
I've found the liquids to be a little more greasy and sometimes overpowering in scent. Although in full disclosure, I have a very manly and powerful beard
Need a picture for a reference point blindly - don’t shampoo it, balm or oil, wooden comb that is only for your beard.
My spirit gay, Johnny Van Ness says your beard line is across your Adam’s apple. Had not heard that before.
Step 1: Know where to stop Look straight in the mirror, holding your head upright. Any hair you can see below your chin from this angle definitely has to go. Now. https://www.usa.philips.com/c-e/men...ing/how-to-trim-a-perfect-beard-neckline.html
Rest your finger horizontally on top of your adam's apple. That's where the bottom of your beard line should be. If you have a longer neck, you can to two fingers. Odin your beard looks fine. Are you going for a tighter look? Line up the cheeks a little bit, and then take clippers and knick off the whisper parts, where you barely cut any whiskers. That will go a long way in cleaning it up and looking more clean cut. But Id ont think your beard looks bad or unkempt or anything
Yeah id like it to be tighter for sure. I comb balm through it each morning, i just dont know how to trim it really.
My beard is thicker than all shown above so it’s not like a sharp line across my jaw except when I trim it all the way down 1-2x a year. Fuck y’all ladies tell me my beard is sexy
Just take your clippers and trim downwards. not upwards.. Barely touching your beard, knocking off the stray whiskers. That will go a long way. Put a 2 guard on the clippers until you trust yourself.
Have had a goatee since 1994, full beard for the last two years. Without regular trimming and beard balm I'd look like Yukon Cornelius.
