My 20 year old just moved to Tampa for the summer with some of her friends. She is pretty street smart but the move still makes me nervous. She can't drive for shit so any Tampa area peeps be on the lookout for a Black Toyota Sequoia with an Atlanta United sticker on the back. Both bumpers are pretty banged up so you can't miss it. She stole a bunch of my old clothes on the way out of town too. Apparently torn up concert tees that don't fit and stains all over them are cool with that age group of females.
Trying to stay young forever but I'm 42. She is not my biological child but she has been my daughter since she was 3. I married an older woman She is working in Tampa but living in St. Petersburg. She is kinda bitchy so watch out.
My daughter is three. She watches Frozen (“the old one, not the new one!”), she wants to start it at the moment Let It Go starts everytime (about 30 minutes and 10 seconds in if you ever need to get there quick), on the off chance she starts the movie from the beginning when it gets to Let It Go, she screams out, “Daddy, let it go is on!” With the expectation that I drop everything and come and watch it with her every time (I do and it’s one of my favorite moments every day.)
I wish them well. Haven't had to be protective dad with her. If only my boys played sports like she did. They are a lot younger and a soft as fuck.
Imagining Detlef Schrempf twirling around his living room belting it out with elsa Spoiler like any other red blooded man would do
I occasionally have my nails painted by my three year old and while I’m shitty at painting nails I do it like a boss.
She had a Bluey t shirt she occasionally sleeps in, but I live in a world colored by Peppa the Pig and Anna/Elsa currently. Although lately I’ve got her into Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous on Netflix (animated kids Jurassic Park show), and it is awesome.
So glad this thread got bumped. No better feeling in the world than a good moment with your little girl.
Hell yeah. My daughter is 5.5. We have never listened to a disney soundtrack or the like. All rock n roll. She throws the horns a lot. We will sit on the couch and watch live shows on YouTube. Her current favorite songs include: Talking Heads - Psycho Killer Rival Sons - Do Your Worst The Raconteurs - Sunday Driver Cage the Elephant - Trouble Cage the Elephant - Cold, Cold, Cold Glass Animals - Heat Waves Primus - Too Many Puppies Grace Potter & the Nocturnals - Medicine And on and on.
My 7 year old is still remote on Wednesday’s, but they end at like 11:30. We are gonna go grab lunch then she wants to hit golf balls with her old man. Grab some ice cream on the way home. Nothing like a good daddy/daughter day.
First time posting here, my daughter turns 4 shortly and she is either the sweetest girl ever or Cersei Lannister reincarnated any given moment. She definitely keeps her older and younger brother in line though which is great.
You can only imagine my delight when on the way to daycare yesterday out of nowhere she started singing "You should know BY NOW, you should KNOW! BY! NOW!" We listen to this album 2-3 times per week
I think my favorite is when she is like Dad play that one song. You know that goes " ......". And I have to piece together her broken lyrics.
Have a girl the same age but she's our only kid and good lord has age 3 been probably as emotionally challenging as the first year. She'll hopefully at least be very independent and strong willed when older.
Those feelings, I know them. Been easier with the second kid since I’ve found some things that work for my family and I have found a lot more patience as time passed.
My 3 year old daughter loves Bluey. I think it’s hilarious. The Dad is a goat kids cartoon character.
My daughter turned 5 months on Monday. She’s my favorite person ever. It’s the highlight of my day waking up early and feeding her then playing. She immediate makes all my worries disappear. She laughs all the time and never fusses. Prob the happiest kid I’ve ever been around.
Happy to see all the Bluey love in this thread. We’ve got two girls (7 and 3) and I swear sometimes I watch that show and am amazed at how much it reflects the day to day shenanigans that happen around here. The kids are like carbon copies of bluey/bingo.
First episode of bluey I watched was in the middle of when the parents are the kids in the grocery store. I started watching in the middle and was just confused as hell what was going on.
Daughter is 1 week old today. Spends most of the day sleeping and when awake pretty much just spits up milk on herself and shits everywhere. Still pretty awesome being a dad, just can’t wait until she starts interacting with us
Wife and I are in fertility treatment currently. This month, there are 4 mature eggs. I would love to have a boy to continue my family name because of the three total male options in the extended family, one is done, one might not start, and the other is me depending on science. But, this thread has me in my feelings today. Hopefully get to give you guys some content in about a year.
So does that make her a worse or better driver than her mom? (If I'm remembering correctly, your wife has a thing for garage doors...)
My daughter will be 2 in July. Total wildcard. For the last week all she's wanted to do is play doctor. Last night I told her to get her doctor kit, I needed a shot. She screamed "no daddy, I cook!" Played with her kitchen the next two hours straight. Excited to see what she's into today. We watch tons of different shows and movies. Monsters ink is her favorite at the moment. She stomps around the house saying "ROAR I MONSTER".
Also.. We are having a boy in August. We've explained to our daughter that her baby brother is in Mommy's tummy. She loves to talk to him. Last week she started rubbing her grandmothers/aunts/uncles stomachs and saying "hey baby bubba."
My wife has a thing for wrecking period. Garages, cars in our driveway way, guard rails on the interstate, etc
We watch Moana and Coco constantly. She picks out Monster's, inc for the first time the other week, and wow does that movie look like shit now. 20 years is a long time ago, as it turns out.
Been there, fee free to DM if you ever want to chat. We found out 4 years ago after our 2nd miscarriage that my wife has a genetic disorder called a balanced translocation, doesn’t effect her at all but it is a nightmare for reproduction. So in addition to all the IVF stuff, we have to have embryos genetically tested. First round ended up with two normal embryos and transfer worked and we have a three year old. Transfer of 2nd embryo a few years later failed and we just finished another unsuccessful round and are gearing up for a 3rd round starting next week.
We have been doing IUI so far. Had a successful one last month, but she miscarried. I know this is not news to the dads in this thread, but I really started thinking about all the cruel things I made fun of as a kid even prior to the miscarriage. Should know soon if the IUI from Monday worked. I am hopeful that if it worked it will be a successful pregnancy. I don't white knight much for my wife, but I definitely don't want to see her go through that again. I definitely was sad because I had not realized how excited I would be, but she was devastated and painful to watch. The positive, because I forced myself to find one to focus on, was that it completely changed my attitude towards the process. I had thought that I would probably be okay with us not having kids and those few weeks showed me that I could not have been more wrong. Never realized how much I had thought about what I would do with kids my entire life until it was a possibility. Thank you for the kind message and congratulations on your child. I know it is quite a process.
Along this topic my wife and I thought we couldn’t have children, we went the IUI route then paid the 19k for IVF we got one good egg and caput no dice.......we were like well that’s a wrap we will just go travel and enjoy life best we can.......2 of my best friends used this Chinese naturalist and their wives got pregnant and it was wayyyy cheaper then IVF, so we did it for shits n giggles and shit you not 9 months later my wife got pregnant and we got a healthy 20 month old son now........they changed me wife’s diet some foods she was allergic too, some supplements, acupuncture cost about 2k total for 9 months
