Literally brand meetings trying to solve NASA level brain busters with “well we want to keep HBO as a brand but how do we do that?” As they already self inflicted decided to take the name off. /guy in hotdog costume meme
I guess that sucks if you were used to more with the receivers but on the streaming version you could only use it on one at a time.
Chase has a targeted offer for $20 back spent on yttv right now. Mine was on my sapphire reserve. Looks like it’s only a one time thing, but $20 is $20.
YTTV officially says they are increasing the video quality. Picture Quality Experiments: We’re testing transcoding changes, including a bitrate increase for live 1080p content over the next several weeks. These will target devices that support the VP9 codec with high-speed internet connections. If these go well, we plan to make them permanent by this summer. More info to come!
Multiview: As many have noticed, we’ve started experimenting with the multiview feature. We rolled this out to all subscribers due to high demand during March Madness and are working on some improvements ahead of the NFL season. Stay tuned for more specific updates as we get closer to the start of the season.
Everyone, including YTTV does price hikes more than I like but at least they're improving the service
Sounds like the first gen Apple TV 4K does not support it. Guess I'll be watching YouTube TV on my Roku Ultra then
Looks like Sunday Ticket does not cover pre-season, so I would expect multiview to arrive no later than September 7.
Love yttv 99% of the time, but holy shit can it be frustrating. right now it’s not recognizing that there’s a basketball game on, and doesn’t remember that I’ve watched it previously. So it’s a pain in the ass to get back to the game. I can’t go from home bc even filtering by “sports” The games not included. So I have to go to the live guide and scroll all the way down (don’t feel like changing the live guide order). happens over every month or so it seems
Changing the live guide to your preference is one of the best features of YTTV. So worth the 5 mins it takes to get it set right so you don't have to scroll/search so much after that. You can also click to not have channels even show up which is nice. I'm never going to watch the 10 or so Spanish language or child related channels so no point in even having them on my guide.
They've got 4 months before the season starts to re-negotiate. Comcast owns NBC which is obviously a huge payor/partner to the NFL. They will get it figured out. Still...fuck cable companies.
No. The contract between the two parties expired and they haven't agreed to new terms yet. They're both to blame. The fuck cable companies comment was because traditional cable companies like Comcast suck ass in general.
Yep. But it appears it was affecting a number of different channels, but the nba game was the most visible. Certainly doesn’t make me want to go see the little mermaid movie
I’ma couple weeks away from my summer pause of the service. They’re “lucky” it “only” happened during the NBA playoffs and not football.
What happened to yours? Mine was severely buffering, but thought it was my shitty internet. I turned it off at halftime because of that and assumed Boston would run away with it. Idiot.
It was stuck on the woke little mermaid commercial. I’d close out the app and open up and it was glitchy but would go right back to the same place. I gave up after ten minutes and started tracking the game on my phone.
Lol it got so much worse. With 4 minutes to go in the 4th it got stuck on a trailer for the new Little Mermaid movie. And you couldn’t get past it, no matter what. Turn the channel and come back, you were back at the start of the trailer. Turn it off and restart? Same spot. It was ridiculous I switched devices thinking it was maybe my tv. I tried on data vs Internet thinking it was my internet going out. Finally opened up espn app and listened to the radio broadcast for the final 2 minutes
