There being a police union isn't the problem. The union backing shitheads, which hurts the good ones, is the problem. The union should use common sense and do that's best for the entire group, not stick by every single member, regardless of what they do.
Just found out my super racist friend who joined the military to go “kill towel heads” (he became a decorated sniper) just became a cop in a heavily Hispanic population city. He is 100% going to kill someone and will be featured in this thread so just posting for future reference.
He has the mental capacity of a 6th grader but is an all out killing machine. Dude is jacked as fuck and unreal with firearms but he does hate the fuck out of minorities. He uses the hard R and every slur imaginable when referring to non-white races. I guess he just doesn’t post it on social media so it’s ok. Unreal.
He could post it on social media and still be employed as a cop. We've seen that a lot lately. Hell one dept hired a company to clean up their cops social media. Even being a KKK member is acceptable.
Just blows my mind. Like they hired him because he’s absolutely qualified in terms of all measures in terms of physical abilities but goddamn if you just went somewhere and had a beer with him he’d drop at least 5 racial slurs towards patrons within 15 mins.
He got fired from being a bouncer because he wouldn’t let Hispanics or black people into the bar. Fired
And that's ok. Literally, it's ok to be a vocal racist and be employed as a cop by most departments. There's a few that have taken action. It's sad to say those departments should be commended for doing something that most assume is common sense but they are the exception and I guess we should commend them for it.
I know what you mean but your statement is technically incorrect, it’s ok to be a vocal racist towards people of color.
I’m not speaking about the average person, I’m talking about for police departments and police unions, although if you’re a white liberal it’s ok to be discriminated against as well.
Muskegon police and local media now reporting a credible threat against the life of - wait for it - the man who ratted out the cop for having those racist items.
He’s not hiding behind the kids, he’s pushing them out of the way, he’s just staying low because that’s what you’re supposed to do.
I see that story play out a lot, mistaken identity due to the police being convinced it was their lead suspect https://www.heraldtribune.com/news/20190606/anderson-north-port-police-arrest-wrong-men
Before I read the tweet, I thought well they look alike honest mistake then I thought to myself “shit am I racist for thinking they look alike”. I then read it and felt better.
Surely the other cop is “one of the good ones” because he didn’t punch anyone...but didn’t react like this was out of the ordinary.
Throwing a temper tantrum because one of their own gets held accountable in the meekest way possible given the circumstances. Police unions.
Reckless behavior that causes loss of life should put you in jail, regardless what job you were doing when it happened. The report states "the use of the chokehold fell so far short of the objective reasonableness that this tribunal found it to be reckless — a gross deviation from the standard of conduct established for a New York City police officer. Moreover, respondent’s glaring dereliction of responsibility precipitated a tragic outcome.”
The fucking worst. The entire mindset to defend every single officer, regardless of what they do, even when it makes the group as a whole look like complete assbags, is so far beyond ignorant. They should be doing what's best for the group as a whole, not looking after individual meatheads.
Fired Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger appeared in court Monday for a hearing before her trial in the death of 26-year-old Botham Jean next month. Guyger, 31, was charged with murder in November, several weeks after she fatally shot Jean in his apartment, just south of downtown Dallas. The four-year police veteran was off-duty but still in uniform Sept. 6 when, she told authorities, she confused his apartment for hers and mistook him for a burglar. Monday's hearing, which was routine, was before state District Judge Tammy Kemp, who will preside over the trial slated to begin Sept. 23. Kemp allowed prosecutors to admit several items into evidence, including the firearm Guyger used in the shooting, bullet casings, photographs and an unspecified "projectile" that was recovered through Jean's autopsy. Prosecutors and Guyger's defense attorneys stated they did not plan to make references to Guyger's employment status during the trial. She was fired from the department Sept. 24, about two and a half weeks after the shooting. Kemp said she hoped jury selection — which is set to begin Sept. 6 — will conclude Sept. 13. She said she planned to have four alternate jurors "because we have a good wait until the start of trial, and things happen." The judge said she had not decided whether to sequester the jury during the trial. Also pending is a defense motion to move the trial out of Dallas County. Guyger's attorneys say publicity surrounding Jean's death will make it impossible for her to receive a fair trial.
https://abcnews.go.com/US/houston-p...oines-charged-counts-murder/story?id=65165276 The former Houston police officer who allegedly lied in order to obtain a search warrant for a city residence has been charged with murder after a raid on that home resulted in the deaths of a couple inside. Gerald Goines was charged Friday with two counts of murder related to the botched narcotics raid that took place at a home in southeast Houston on Jan. 28. His fellow cop, Steven Bryant, was charged with tampering with a government document for allegedly attempting to help Goines cover up the illegally obtained warrant. During the raid, Rhogena Nicholas and Dennis Tuttle were shot to death by police officers, according to the medical examiner. The couple's dog was also killed by police. Goines, 54, was the officer who obtained a so-called "no knock" warrant, which allows police to enter a building without signaling their arrival or reason for being there. Ogg said Goines made "numerous false statements" in the affidavit presented to the judge who signed the warrant. Among those were allegedly false claims that a two-week narcotics operation had just concluded at the home, an confidential informant had bought heroin from the address and the seller was armed with a handgun. Four police officers were also shot, including Goines. One of those officers is still in the hospital in serious condition seven months later. (MORE: Police chief says department will scrap no-knock warrants after fatal drug raid) Bryant, 45, allegedly lied in supplemental paperwork saying he had assisted Goines in a narcotics operation at the house on day prior to the raid. "Bryant's claims were false," Ogg said. "He further fabricated that two days after the raid on the Harding Street residence that he recovered a plastic bag that contained a white napkin and two small packets of a brown powdery substance that he knew, based on his skill and expertise, contained heroin. Bryant claimed that he recognized the drugs as the same drugs allegedly purchased by Goines' CI the day before, Jan. 27. That was false."
Is it bad that on one hand I watch this video and think yay cops they didnt kill him and on the other I feel like there's a 1% chance a black man could kill 3 people, chase a cop, attack a man, and be allowed to run away down a street without being killed? https://wset.com/news/local/heavy-police-presence-in-keeling-area-police-looking-for-armed-man
I'm gonna assume this is the same story? https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/27480300/family-rays-prospect-killed-triple-homicide
