Put in all the channels I wanted on suppose.tv and it’s still a better deal for me than Dish, Directv, or Comcast and that’s even before you add in all the fees on top of the advertised cost of the service.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t watch sports. Then I could just get rid of streaming/cable TV entirely. At least with YouTube TV I can cancel it when there aren’t going to be any sports I want to watch, like normally the summer once the NBA is over and before football starts in the fall.

No contract either. I’m in the same boat. I get everything and more with YTTV vs local options like Cox at a significant discount. Also don’t have to mess with satellite tv, which is just a personal thing..know most people don’t have issues. I get that plus centurylink internet for ~$50 month price guaranteed gigabit with no data cap and it’s awesome.

I've been cancelled since sports got shut down which is nice. I never had YTTV but regardless better than being in a cable package locked in for a year or two.

my heartburn with going back to DirecTV is all the bullshit fees for DVR service, box fees, etc. - even with this price increase, it’s still cheaper than that, not to mention no contract so I can tell YTTV to fuck off without a contract penalty at any time

The fees are the real killer. Back when my parents had Dish, they were paying like $25+ a month just in fees.

Btw...if you have YTTV don't forget to go into your account and select the new channels (Comedy Central, Paramount, VH1, MTV, etc.) under your Live Guide so they show up for your viewing pleasure.

The faster we get to a la carte (pay per channel) likely first evolving via groupings/packages (e.g. Fox family, ESPN/Disney family, Viacom, etc) the better.

Newsy, Tastemade, The Young Turks, Oprah Winfrey, Motor Trend, Comet TV, Cheddar, Pop, Freeform channels can all take a hike.

This is so annoying I left cable because I got tired of them adding channels I don’t watch and increasing the price bec of it. YTTV already had everything at this point now I’m basically going to be paying what I was paying XFINITY for my bundle and at least they gave me a damn house phone with the price

To those complaining, I get it. Do what you need to do but remember the grass isn't always greener. If you want more than whatever over the air gives you there are 3 primary options.

    1. Go back to cable or satellite and be under contract with hardware while almost always paying more.

    2. Use another service that competes with YTTV and save yourself $10/month while getting a worse interface, technology, DVR, and user experience.

    3. Use a combination of free resources that are illegal, unreliable, and sometimes full of ads, bloatware, etc...

JMO of course but it's still the best option. Now, they better not raise their price again for a long damn time otherwise they will open themselves up for a true mass exodus.

If YouTube TV continues in that trend line I’ll just get rid of it before long and be done with live tv entirely. Shit ain’t worth it. If there is a game I want to watch I’ll find a pirated stream somewhere.

    - YTTV is the only service to increase its price each of the last three years (so far)
    - YTTV (5, 10, 15) and Hulu (5, 10) have increased the amount of their price increases

I looked at Hulu but it’s such a rip off if you have more than one person using. Having to pay another 10 to use multiple screens. Another 10 to still only get 200 hours of DVR recordings. You can get both for $14.98 but even then it costs the same with less DVR storage so what’s the point?

I'd be kind of ok with the increase if they included history channel and quit adding unskippable ads in their "unlimited dvr" and went from 3 to 4 concurrent streams

I think it also depends a bit on how you use your DVR. I don't DVR much stuff, but the things I do I want to keep as long as I can. So for me, a DVR that has limited storage for an unlimited amount of time is better than one with unlimited storage for a limited amount of time.

I'm alright with this pricing model. I'd much rather have this than jack up the pricing of the service for everyone overall. See YTTV and PSVue used to as well.

I firmly believe live sports tv rights (read the package costs paid by the carriers to the rights holders) have peaked and in the years/decades ahead the costs settle.

We (sports motivated subscribers) just have to ride it out a little bit longer.

They need to start finding a superior revenue model as well. The current paid live TV isn’t going away but it’s certainly going to become less and less prevalent going forward.
