i can't believe they just called it 7.33 instead of something bigger like 8.00. the new map and objectives seem like they'll completely change the game.
I play mostly control/stun heavy supports so we’ll see how this changes their effectiveness. also Ogre always has 0 max intelligence. Always. Lmao
Map changes are good. The twin gate teleports REALLY open up the ganking dynamic. The also having pathways to get behind t2 towers are awesome. Drow shard is really good
i still haven't read any of the hero or item changes. i have ~18 hours of driving this weekend so hoping purge does a video that i can just tune in for played one turbo game tonight and the map is so fucking massive. mobile heroes are going to fucking own.
BKB nerf is probably good. Ideally, there shouldn't be any item that is so good it gets bought by > half the heroes that can afford it because it counters almost everything.
i'm not sure why but the new patch has sort of dissuaded my interest in dota i'm not playing as much as i did. and i'm barely watching the esl major right now whereas i watched a ton of the dreamleague games a couple of weeks ago. idk. maybe it'll get better for me as i learn more about the map, the new items, the hero changes, and the meta.
not sure if any fellow dota fans really care about the non-major/TI matches but i had the Aster/IG stream on and highly recommend game 2 TB vs Dusa (with Sumail on Puck)... it seems like both cores just farmed for ~30-35 minutes but then there was basically 10 minutes of fighting around both Roshan pits (both teams took portal). Lots of buybacks and lots of diebacks. Pretty wild last ~10 minutes of just pure brawling with super-farmed heroes.
I’ve watched about 2-3 hours of Arteezy’s stream the past week to get a feel for the meta and the new map. It looks like it’s brought a lot of cool changes.
I am a huge fan of the new map. I am not a fan of current patch of Medusa/WR/SB/Doom/Batrider/Veno/disrupt every game. game is fun to play though. WEU region is stacked and almost every game is competitive.
Random but it's wild how competitive/even the game is amongst pro teams now. Out of 16 series today, 13 of them were split 1-1. Everyone is good.
Everyone is good Meta is heavy universal hero type, but nothing too heavily OP. Pro dota is in a really good spot rn
i think the meta is actually kind of boring. as you said, heavy universal heroes and those heroes build the same items, basically. plus, rosh being in the corner means there are fewer interesting team fights and definitely no rosh steals.
think this might've been my best game ever: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/7210584867 team was bad/toxic with perhaps a griefer (perma jungle) axe and i kept everyone steady and carried super hard. we were down 30k and two lanes and then won every fight afterwards.
Interesting drama in the Bali Major. Betboom (One of the strongest looking teams recently with Torontotokyo/GPK/Nightfall) was caught with their offlaner watching a stream of their match during pause in the upper bracket. They then had to forfeit the match they already won 2-0 against tundra, and were sent to the lower bracket, had to play with reso as a replacement offlaner, and lost that too. Now if Quest gets top 4 in the major, they miss auto qualifying for TI by 1 spot.
The map changes were needed, and good, but they really need a massive change to the economy to change the fundamentals of how to play the map. Dota is too solved by the top end teams imo
they really need to fix universal heroes imo i hope they make only the highest attribute count so you can still see someone build agi items or strength items or whatnot but you don't see the same iron branches, linkens, mantas, skadi builds for the meta heroes
I was thinking a while back that rat Dota disappeared. TP slots and glyph turrets seem to have killed it.
incredible game and this: ----https://clips.twitch.tv/CloudyBlitheManateeYee-45jEBDW0RginiSJb (have to wonder if talon couldve won if 23savage stays focused)
this is pretty funny https://www.dota2.com/newsentry/3674426239866314901 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1AYLuzek3F6BWjpL8tBycO6cJf346m7r7P0BiWZNn7x8/preview
sumail and aster are eliminated from ti qualifications by someone named team bright with five players I've never heard of earlier, ig was eliminated by team zero which is also somewhat no-name but has iceice and blink (coach) from ti6 wings
TI started today, well group stage. Probably the least I've been into Dota since I discovered it for TI5. Think I would have been looking forward to it more if Aster and SumaiL qualified. I watched the Ridayh Masters and enjoyed it quite a bit. I miss old real NA EG. Sucks not having a team to invest in.
