So I just started my second month, so first step up in dosage, last Saturday. I feel like I'm having a lot more food noise in my head during the evenings than the first month. Maybe not really hungry, but like 'man I wanna eat something '. Been trying to satisfy that with some chicharrones with hot sauce on em or a little bag of quest chips. But i can't help but keep thinking i want to get some ice cream or something for a late night snack, and that's not even something I used to do hardly ever. Anyway, I weighed myself today for the first time since my very first shot, so 5 weeks in i guess. Down about 15 pounds so far. Edit to add Ohh yea, during the first month I was only holding myself back from drinking beer. Like only drinking on Saturday night, but felt like i could drink all i wanted, and just as much as before. Well last night's Tech game got me to grab a beer, I could barely finish it
I think so Only drink one 20oz cup of coffee a morning, then water all day. Probably 4 or 5 bottles at work and 3 or 4 big tervis tumblers at home in the evening
took my 2nd injection about 2.5 hours ago. so if you see me posting in here at 3am, know i'm puking my asshole out through my mouth. i'm not having a good time.
the medicine is slowing down digestion allowing more time for food to sit on the top of your stomach, which is why you need to avoid acidity No tomatoes, chocolate, carbs, etc after 4 until your body gets used to it simple proteins and a healthy fat will be your routine at night , carbs , etc during day
15 in 5 weeks, been trying to lift consistently and go heavy protein to lower muscle loss. Have went full yuppy with these protein shakes
https://www.wired.com/story/end-of-semaglutide-shortage-glp1-ozempic-wegovy/ Seems to be reactions all over the place to everyone is fucked to they'll just alter the formula and add B12 and keep selling it. IDK what is true, but have until 4/22
Heard something on the radio this morning that Zep is lowering prices to compete with compounding companies Maybe there is hope the competition will actually drive prices down overall I always assumed the compounding companies were just setting there prices lower than the big pharma stuff but still making a huge profit l, not just charging a small percentage
It's 349 vs 499, so it's still 2x-2.5x the compounded companies. There is talk that the compounding companies will just slight adjust the formula to avoid any patten infringement. Like they'll just add B12 to it and magically it is completely different and they can sell. IDK if that is true, but a few things I've read
So I recently went on blood pressure meds in spite of completely eliminating alcohol (almost 1 year), loosing 30 lbs (while gaining muscle mass), and adopting a diet that was able to lower my ldl and and hcl enougb to avert cholesterol medication. Buy my weight loss has hit a stalling point for the past 6 months even though I have another 20-30lbs I could lose, especially around the mid section. I work out now almost fanatically and still no more weight loss and no BP improvement. Got approved through Mochi to start semaglutide. I think I am going to do it. Any downfalls?
I, too, just stumbled across this thread and have enjoyed reading everyone's successes. I started on 4/1/24 at 5'11" 246 and am currently 192 on 10 mg Mounjaro. I have been conscious of not stepping up in dosage until I absolutely have to and began stretching out doses to 10 days in December. I never experienced any side effects other than mild nausea if I overate, which was very difficult to do and only happened a handful of times. Good luck to those just starting your journey...it is incredible!
Forgive me for not reading through the thread, my Dr prescribed Wegovy and it is not covered by insurance. Neither is the other one. Dr. will not prescribe me Mounjaro. Seems to me the compounding route is the way to go. Any suggested companies or things I need to know?
Look for a local compounding pharmacy Heck, victory pharmacy in austin might ship, I am not sure since theirs has to be kept frozen. That's where I get it from Wife went on a different one from somewhere for a month and did not like the way it made her feel
Seems all the compounding places are starting to shut down production of Triz and soon will stop Semiglutide. Levity sent me an email saying they will not take new patients, but will continue if we have a subscription. Seems most of the Internet is hoping they add in B12 to make it different, but lots of skeptical folks think that ain't gonna fly bc Big Pharma will sue and overwhelm them with lawsuits.
I started in August around 232-235, somewhere in there. Got to 200 in about 4 months, and have stayed within 3 pounds of that since. I dropped my dose from 10 to 7.5 for a month and never gained a lb and am now 3 weeks into 5.0 and am still at 197. I have one full prescription of what was supposed to be 10mg doses left, and plan to finish a month at 5.0 then go to however long I need at 2.5 before tapering off completely, My theory is I'm just hoping to give my body and mind long enough at this 195-200lb weight that this becomes my new normal and I can just stick there with reasonable diet and exercise.
I’m 6 weeks in and just started getting random headaches that last all day. Is this a normal thing? Also pretty sore and achy but i attribute a lot of that to working out and stuff
Down 70 as of today since starting on Ozempic, which was prescribed more for a1c than weight loss. 365 at my appointment that day, 295 today. That has been about 2 years and I have not been dieting super well and my compliance is probably more like 2-3 injections per month on average over that time, as I am just bad at staying on schedule, or will take a week or two off when I want to make sure I don’t have stomach issues or want to eat a lot, like special events or vacation, that sort of thing. But overall this is also way more healthy than when I keto-crash-lost 110lb then gained it all back.
Could always mix it up and ask to switch to Zepbound if you’re looking to go farther, it has the best data so far
I’m feeling good about it, all things considered. My a1c is where it needs to be. I’ve consistently gone down. The slow in progress is plateauing, with short term (1-2 weeks) gains of 5-10 at most. Haven’t spiked back up at all. I’ve been more active than usual lately. That helped me kick the last 15, which I had been stuck on for months, in the past two weeks or so. Mainly, I need to stay disciplined about dosing schedule and habits.
