Midnight Run is a very good movie I need to start a list of 80s and earlier movies that i've never seen that I keep seeing mentioned Body Double & Possession are on my list
Amadeus The Last Picture Show The Devils Aguirre, The Wrath of God Midnight Cowboy Some of my all-time favorites that maybe not everyone has seen. Possession and Body Double are very good too
I kinda knew but basically forgot we share a bday and I saw last temptation of Christ on 35mm yesty. What I’m trying to say is I’m basically Marty now Also: goodfellas, taxi driver, raging bull. Most unconventional thing might be killers way up there for me
What the fuck is lady Emily’s deal I promise you red one is not what film Twitter is clamoring for. Also I don’t think it’s film Twitter bemoaning a lack of creativity in Hollywood but whatever. Reply guy cretins do not equal film Twitter Edit: I definitely ate the trash, carry on
Apocalypse Now is my favorite movie of all time, and I rewatched it this weekend for the first time in at least a year or so. I think this is solidified as my favorite scene in a movie chock full of them. Absolutely surreal.
Damnit…Monday mystery movie at Regal is Gladiator 2, but already have tickets for Friday with GF, so walked out to see Heretic Got some good brownie points, but also FOMO
Yep, totally wasn’t expecting that, my buddy and I thought it was going to be The End or Queer, so I had the Heretic backup plan ready to go, as I promised my GF I’d see Gladiator with her
Who exactly is asking for what appears to be a shot for shot live action remake of an already perfect movie
Meant to respond to this last night sir, my bad. I thought it was pretty good I guess, but maybe had higher expectations due to the high RT scores. Worth seeing, but nothing you need to see in a theater
I just heard about the original Gladiator 2 script written in like 2006 on a podcast. They were going to call it “Christ Killer” and the plot was crazy. The old gods were impressed with Maximus and offered to bring him and family back to life. His family goes back to earth but he goes to hell because he had to prove himself worthy by fighting his way back to earth first. Then the old gods tell him he has to kill a new god named Messiah because he was getting popular and it was causing them to lose their power. So he hunts Messiah down and kills him only to realize it was actually his son who was now older. The old gods then grant him the title of “eternal warrior” and the movie ends with a 20 minute fight montage of him in every war up till Vietnam. I had no idea the mid 2000s drugs were that good.
Received my new 4K Criterion Collection of Seven Samurai and watched it last night. Really great quality with no artifacts found. No doubt one of the finest films ever made. Toshiro Mifune’s Kikuchiyo stands out in every scene that he is in. Every time I watch it, I’m amazed a little more at the quality of this from 1954.
Username checks out. My wife bought me SS on blu ray last year and while it was a great gift and I thanked her, I returned it because I knew the 4k restoration was about to be released in the states. Time to pick this one up.
my current gripe with 4k stuff is a lot of people said to get the UK one instead of criterion bc of the HDR profile and now that it's out they say the subs are bad no winning with this shit
thimble’s worth since...I’m doing the best I can. And not only alcohol—forget all that. Strength. I started with [a trainer] in February of last year. He makes the meals for me and we’re training, and I’m now 190-something pounds on my way to 185. I was looking at pictures of myself and Pauletta at the Academy Awards for 'Macbeth,' and I’m just looking fat. Those days are over, man. I feel like I’m getting strong. Strong is important.”
picked mine up at barnes & noble yesterday, but havent dug into it yet watch list is pretty long at the moment, but holiday breaks are coming soon for catching up
