Both were indeed fun movies Also neat that we get a Denzel-Dakota Fanning reunion 20 years after Man on Fire
Been telling my friends about this and other factors making RT almost worthless for years. Finally feel seen.
Idk if I really agree. I guess I'd say for the average movie watcher (and those that watch even less) sure it's probably okay.
And I've mindlessly complained that RT stinks while being lectured that it's a compilation of ratings
Yeah, i've been spreading the word with friends since seeing it on Monday and somewhat surprised by how few people know about it
I'm guessing you know this, but I just discovered that the lead singer of this band is brothers with the guy who wrote/directed the movie. seems worth mentioning.
re bottoms: might not be fair if I want them to keep getting made, but I just prefer to save comedies for home vs. a theater experience.
Spoiler I liked how they did the thing with him standing sideways. Can’t get shot in the body if you’re standing sideways. That was a real thing the Billy the Kid did. I listened to a podcast on him and he did that when dueling. He was also an amazing horse rider and practiced shooting all the time. He could do the riding on the side of the horse and shooting because he learned it from the Comanches
And Bottoms definitely was one of those for me, saw it in a 60% full theater on Labor Day afternoon and certainly added to the enjoyment/experience
Gangs of New York is a top 3 movie for me, in contention for favorite of all time Daniel Day Lewis so fucking good
Anyone seen this, looks interesting? Downloading now. God Is A Bullet 2023 Movie - Starring Jamie Foxx, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe - When vice detective Bob Hightower finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult - Bob is frustrated by bumbling botched official investigations. Bob is lead down the rabbit hole to save his daughter and Case seizes the opportunity to claim back her power from the cult that took so much away from her.
I watched the movie Draft Day on HBO last night for the 2nd time. I saw it in theaters and remember it being meh, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you just enjoy the ride and don’t let yourself get caught up in some of the dumb shit details, it’s actually a very entertaining movie.
I'm going to see Rosemary's Baby at the local independent movie theater next month as part of their Halloween programming, have only seen it once at home, looking forward to it.
What are everyone's thoughts on The Program? I realized that I started this movie once or twice 20+ years ago, but I don't think I ever finished it for whatever reason. Worth a watch?
STARTING DEFENSE! (SMASH) PLACE AT THE TABLE!!! It was not great, but I enjoyed it when it first came out. I'm sure it has aged poorly.
It’s weird seeing my teams stadium in a movie. Even weirder seeing it without the section I’ve sat in for for two decades due to it not being constructed until after the were done filming.
There’s no way it’s stood up as a good movie over the years. Same though and loved it when it was out. We’d always watch it at my friend’s house and thought it was one of the best movies ever.
Also finally watched Past Lives which I enjoyed as well. I'm a sucker for those type movies. Glad it ended the way it did, thought it was interesting.
The Program is arguably my favorite sports movie. Alvin Mack, Steve Lattimer, and Darnell Jefferson It’s incredible.
I loved it when it came out, some of it because of the Michigan porn contained inside. Rewatched it a couple months back and there are plenty and I mean plenty of nits to pick but it's still entertaining to me for nostalgia reasons. so much early 90's nostalgia...Craig Sheffer, Kristy Swanson, Michigan winning high profile road games, etc.
People forget that Halle Berry cheated on Ray Griffen with a true freshman hotshot tailback she was tutoring.
