Searched and didn't see it having its own thread so it has long deserved one. Full playlist http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJCXt9gwwl9XyvjWzdUrP3Y8AwHyMu8m7 Some of my especially loved songs: "Say No To This", "My Shot", "Wait For It", "Yorktown", "Satisfied", "Guns and Ships" and all 3 of the king's break up songs. Going to Broadway soon (if not already) and later expanding to LA and Chicago.
I listen to the CD at work once a week or so. Awesome concept and so well done. Really wish it was available on DVD. Wife told me recently that they are going on tour in 2017.
Highly suggest hitting up Lyric Genius for some of the songs. Miranda has added notes to some of the lines. http://genius.com/Lin-manuel-miranda-my-shot-lyrics
Only nineteen but my mind is older Lin-Manuel Miranda 6,359 artist4 months ago It was a no brainer to put that line in because that is something Hamilton would absolutely say. There’s a lot of ‘90s references in that opening tune; it’s the stuff I grew up falling in love with. Hamilton is just like a ‘95 Prodigy. “Shook Ones Pt. II” by Mobb Deep is one of my favorite hip-hop tunes period. We actually have violins go mimic the sirens in the track, which doesn’t make sense at all with the rest of the music, but it does when you consider the fact that we were trying to embody the sound from “Shook Ones Pt. II.”
Awesome show. Crowd was rowdy the whole time and heads were bobbing throughout. King George kills it. The dude who plays Lafayette/Jefferson was amazing too. I highly recommend it.
Love the soundtrack and hope to see the show someday. Big fan of Mr. Hamilton. Argue with a buddy all the time about how much more important he was to our country than Jefferson, that frog-loving hippie.
Can't wait for the national tour. Doubt I'll see it on Broadway, but who knows. I've listened to the soundtrack probably twenty times.
that would make a fun thread because both are incredibly important and them being on opposite sides led to division of powers in current government. Jefferson gets used as political capital all the time but his ideas don't really exist in totality in either party, Hamiltons not really either. In modern politics they'd be odd men out.

Been listening to it every once and a while too. If grade a teenaged Truman knew adult Truman was listening to musicals, and wanting to attend one, he'd think something has seriously gone wrong.
no shame in the game breh. i think most on this board would enjoy Book of Mormon, Avenue Q, and Hamilton
Nov-Jan tickets went on sale on Ticketmaster. Weekends gone but some mid week tickets on sale. $200 a pop.
Random question....and I'm not sure if anyone here will even have an answer. But, I've seen the pieces on "60 Minutes" and other national shows about this musical...the director seems brilliant. I'm interested in what he will do as his next idea. It almost seems like he's "stuck" for lack of better words with the most popular show. So, at what point can he move on and try to start something new?
He's writing music for an upcoming animated film "Moana" and I recall he was cast in a big live action project but I can't recall specifically off the top of my head.
How were you alerted that tickets were going on sale? Seems they're all gone now, but I'd like to know for next time.
Wife saw it on Twitter. I Googled Hamilton and every twitter feed that popped up had a liking to Ticketmaster.
Don't know that I can name any song as a favorite, but I'm really enjoying "You'll Be Back" and "What Comes Next?" King George is pretty comical in his songs. If you like Hamilton, you might also like Into the Heights, also written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
LMM described all of King George's numbers as "break up songs", pretty funny when he puts it in that context.
My wife's favorite song is satisfied, and I have to admit it's pretty dope. Guns and ships is my favorite though. Also can't go wrong with my shot
Satisfied is in my top group of favorites. I really like everything Angelica and Eliza do in the show.
About a monthish ago I listened to only this soundtrack for about 10 days straight. Still listen to it a bunch. Coming to LA next year and I will be in attendance no matter what. Hope a lot of the cast stays on, although that is unlikely.
I found the soundtrack on vinyl at a record store the other day, but it's $80 and I really don't want to spend that much. It took a lot of will power to leave the store without it
I read a great interview with Lin where he was talking about how most everyone's contracts are ending soon. Wouldn't say if he would renew, but said that he only did In the Heights for a year. I thought that was telling. Link to the interview spoilered. Spoiler click

Well I'll be eagerly awaiting it. I search YT for clips of it from time to time. There are a few out there but nothing comprehensive.
