i think the first minute or so of that song is fine but then they do the same bullshit all deathcore does. any of their other songs ive attempted to listen to are even more deathcore-y

Those three Christs have been in my collection for a long time. Only one I have a lot of spins with is Triarchy and I adore it. I also have the first two Necromantia's, doubt I listened to either one but once back in the 90's, excited to go back through some of these.

I'm familiar with a lot of the sketchiness of Polish bands, which is weird considering their country's history. Infernal War floored me the first time I heard "Terrorfront", such a punishing album. Came across an article where it said the band use to be called Infernal SS :gross:

One thing I like about checking out bands on Tracker is they'll label everything based on genre, regardless what it is, so when I see the NSBM tag I just keep scrolling.

Jesus Christ Century Media Records, continue circling that drain you POS label. I bet nobody guessed that this was gonna happen when you sold to Sony.

Never really thought of it that way, but considering all those things suck I can certainly see it.

Gun to my head I'd take Manhole over RATM. I really despise RATM.

Found a new favorite unsigned black metal band. Although I don't believe the CD is limited to 100 with that many supporters/followers.

    Skaldr hails from Virginia.

Nice to see Cemetery with their first material since 1993. Feels like a mix of Death, Asphyx and Obituary.

Please excuse me while I spend the rest of the night patch shopping. Couple hundred patches on hand, plenty to fill the new jacket I'm going to start, but like a heroin addict I just can't get enough. One of the old Poland based patch sellers I've bought from in the past has a ton of new patches of old obscure bands you don't see patches of often. Then of course I'll have to go through Metal Devastation and the usual suppliers to see what they have. Guaranteed to spend $350-$400 on patches tonight. God I'm a loser.

That's because you know you're not more metal than the next guy. haha

I wear denim because I like it, always have since the 80's. I put patches on it because I love metal patches. I also have a fridge full of metal band magnets that few ever get to see, but I love them and that's why they're there.

US black metal was always kind off tasteless. It lacks atmosphere bands from countries with culture have.

im not sure if they are the heaviest band ever, but they should be in the conversation.

‘O’ on this album is utterly crushing.

huge fan of this band. both albums absolutely rip.

have posted them several times itt

self-described as “melodic black metal for everyone”

the Minnesota BM scene is quite strong between these guys and Obsequiae.

In the spirit of being more forceful about bands that are quality, if you like Inexorum, you should love Wayfarer and Nechowen.

Wayfarer has a new album coming out next month that I’m eagerly awaiting.

unfortunately I have not liked any of the new Uada singles off the new album. their first two albums are great and this was going to be an instant pre-order, but was not feeling those songs.

Nechowen albums are usually split between a folk side and a metal side (a la Panopticon).

Both sound really good, especially Nechowen. I have a couple Panopticon's, I think ones called Kentucky or maybe that's where they're from. Uada being from this area I have both of their albums and both rule.

Grim, I like it! Especially that Omitir.

There was a band I liked back in the late 90's, at least I think it was late 90's. They weren't pure BM, had other elements, I can't remember their name. Covers had a border around the photo, one was purply in color. It's driving me nuts because I want to visit them again.

Heavy on the folk, don't even know if they were black metal at all. Maybe a folk/black/doom if I'm recalling correctly. I'm trying to remember their record label. Another album of their was a cream color cover.

20 years ago or so I remember France having a blossoming black metal scene. One band that sticks out in my memory is Seth. Any others from France need attention?

All this BM talk is gonna drive Odin nuts. Pesci too, since he only listens to Darkthrone :)

the best French black metal band is Blut Aus Nord. they are so prolific and have so many phases throughout their career that there is something for everyone.

my favorite albums are Hallucinogen and the Memoria Vetusta trilogy.

melodic, psychedelic bm with amazing riffs

    disturbing, abrasive, dissonant bm

    folk-influenced atmospheric bm

industrial bm with heavy electronic influences
