John Mullaney's new standup is excellent (which actually surprised me after his shit television show). Tom Segura's latest special is solid but not quite as good as Completely Normal. Haven't seen the new Hannibal yet. If you have, please advise.
Yeah, I'm not sure why I doubted his ability. His show was just so awful that it made me reluctant. On a related note, his Tom Jones bit might be the greatest thing I've ever heard.
The whole bit on "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" was perfect. Mulaney's standup is really well done If Hannibal's is the same what I saw a few months back its gonna be really good too
Hannibal's best bit is Jeezy as a real estate agent. "House stupid, dumb big. My rooms got rooms." Jeezy, those are closets.
I saw him at a church at Emory that doubles as a speaking hall and he kept catching the Holy Ghost at random times through the show. It killed me Also has anyone ever heard Jerrod Carmichael's stand up? Really good
"thanks mister berry gordy" is a great way to acknowledge when someone screws you over and tries to act like they aren't
Comeback Kid is most recent. I thought it was good. Segura's newest is funny but not as funny as his first one. Would still recommend. Matt Braunger on Netflix was pretty funny. Wasn't expecting much but laughed a lot.
had a friend at brad williams' taping said it was awesome disappointed that i missed him in denver this weekend
Yeah I thought Hinchcliffes was pretty meh, but I saw him live a couple months ago and thought he was hilarious even though the crowd was terrible. I thought Mulaney's was excellent and his Bill Clinton story was unbelievable. Pretty excited to watch Hannibal's latest special. Really want to get out and see more standup this year. Only been to three shows, but had a blast at all three. Saw Bill Burr on my birthday a couple years ago, Chappelle last spring and then Hinchcliffe a couple months ago. Burr was probably my favorite. Lady behind me was so disgusted with him that she walked out. Who all have you guys seen and what was your favorite performance?
Funny, I literally saw these exact same three specials this weekend. Probably laughed the most at Segura's but enjoyed all three. Agreed that Braunger's caught me by surprise by how good it was. Mulaney was about what I expected, also really funny. I live walking distance to the Laugh Factory, need to go out and see more stand up, always have a good time when I go.
Word? This fucking big news and you didn't even tag me for it?? For What It's Worth and Killin Em Softly are my two favorites... Also, Tracy Morgan is a great standup comedian, IMO. Doesn't write all of his own stuff but he's as likable and funny as ever on stage.
Yeah the Mulaney one is 'old' because i i remember seeing it in february then it went to Netflix in the fall. There's so many comics pumping shit out i thought he snuck another one in there. The Comeback Kid is legit one of the best of 2015. Everyone needs to check it out.
Love Tracy, he's going on tour this year too and turns out the Chappelle HBO special was a rumor, but he's been doing a lot of standup lately so i hope he tours again
Got my tickets for Bill Burr Saturday night at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. I haven't been this giddy in months. Years. Ever.
I just saw him do 90 minutes in KC a couple weeks ago. I didn't stop laughing the entire time. He was incredible.
Saw Brooks Wheelen who had a stint on SNL and a couple comedy central specials. Dude was hilarious, had some awesome stuff about being able to tell how poor you were growing up by how long it took you to realize Red Lobster was not a really nice restaurant that had me dying.
Given his history of depression, I'm honestly worried. His response letter he posted sounded like he's just holding together for his daughter.
Segura's latest was definitely a step down from his previous work but still funny. My wife and I drop dookie shoes references regularly. Killin them softly is still the gold standard RIP Giraldo. He was my favorite comedian and incredible live. It gets a little dusty when I watch comedy central's tribute to him http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/give-it-up-for-greg-giraldo-part-1/81407445/
Bill Burr killed it last night. Made the 10:00 pm show, sat down in row 16 center stage...great seat, great view. Five minutes later the FATTEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD sat down in the seat next to me with her sidemeat spilling over onto my leg. I turned to be somewhat gracious and when she spoke her breath made my eyes click together. Pure rancid. I thought this had to be part of the show. Behind me was the young Asian chick that had to fill every gap in the set with a "WOO!" or some other inane comment like "He's SO funny, OMG!" or "That's RIGHT! Yeah!" I don't get why people can't just shut the fuck up and listen. But he was great, as expected. Only bit I recognized was his population control through the deliberate sinking of cruise ships. Excellent show.
LOL love Billy Bitch Tits. I hope you told him that he still hasn't posted his Thursday afternoon just before Friday, Monday morning podcast for this past week.
Haven't thought Hannibal's best stuff is as good as his older stuff. Segura was a step down from his older work. Anybody like Jeselnik?
