Just finished Gone Girl... Really liked it.

I am happy to say that I 100% called it after like the first 5th of the book that she was responsible for her own disappearance. I first thought she'd killed herself, and was almost dead on. I knew Nick didn't do it, he didn't have the balls to go through with something like that, and the book was too highly rated for it to be a run-of-the-mill who done it story. They kept bringing up the treasure hunt, but then ignoring it, I knew it had everything to do with it.

There were some things I didn't like, though. I'd like to hear what Amy did to the 2 that robbed her. She's so good at payback, I think it would have been nice to hear a good story.

Didn't love the Desi being murdered angle.

Nick one time said "She was wearing too high high-heels and I :loldog: because I couldn't imagine a guy every saying anything like that.

I thought the ending was pretty good, if a bit hasty.

As I think of more I'll add... I was too afraid to read this thread because I listened, so I didn't know exactly where in the book I was.

finished to day and thought it was well done. Took a bit of time to feel satisfied with the ending (which at first seemed hasty) but

Nick really is a terrible and fraudulent person in his own right even though I was hoping the second twist would be him finishing the job after she came back.

Going to try to keep up with the monthly picks going forward. And if anyone in this thread needs/wants a .mobi/azw3 or .epub file just pm me and I'll try to find it.

Flynn has a new book coming out in November entitled The Grownup.

While I'm normally not pro female author Flynn has proven herself to be really good and almost gender neutral in her writing. I look forward to this release.
