Working on packing before moving in a couple weeks. You never think about how much of a pain in the ass wrapping these for safe transport is
That’s awesome. I think it’s going to be the first one I buy in the next couple weeks. I’m hoping to get the large Eiffel Tower sometime too. Not sure which other architecture ones are available
Eiffel Tower is massive. Im not sure what’s next for me to be honest. The next ones I want to do are big and I don’t have a place to display them so I’m struggling.
We should start a lego marketplace for these sets that are cool builds that we have no space to display them full time. A lego library if you will, shipping these things around to each other.
I like Taj Mahal so much I can't start it yet and just enjoy 'mirin the box on the shelf. I have it next to some fancy art and architecture books.
Taj Mahal looks great but I’ve been limiting myself to the architecture/city skyline sets of places I’ve been to.
Would love the colosseum if I ever lived in a place with a basement where I could display. Instead I bought an unopened Venice architecture set two years ago for an insane price. Also bought the Trevi fountain used (came in a ziploc bag with nothing else).
Just finished the Hogwarts Express. This is on its way for next build I really wanted the Jazz club piece, but don’t wanna spend $250 right now, lol
Haven't started the space shuttle discovery yet. Last build was the fender stratocaster, but making it left handed.
Just finished the Endurance and now doing the A Frame cabin. Endurance was an awesome build and even better finished piece.
My current wish list: Sunflowers Notre Dame Botanical Garden Endurance. I'm trying to slow myself down from going nuts my first couple months of retirement, so gotta establish a pace.
Have a backlog right now with the Boutique Hotel, Sunflowers and Tudor Corner left. After those probably some older sets that looking to retire this year or soon: Rivendell Hogwarts Collectors Edition Lions Knight Castle Daily Bugle
A lot of the Harry Potter ones look so bad ass. I’ll probably eventually get them, but wanted to work on some other IPs.
I say this with the understanding we all know the financial side is the hurdle for all. If you can afford it, don’t let your backlog stop you from getting other wants, because before you know it a set will be retired/overpriced
Alma mater got me with the buildy bricks. $50 donation got me a "Cocky Blocks" set. Godspeed reading your alumni emails
Have we discussed lighting kits itt? I've never tried one, but I'm a little tempted with this Tranquil Garden, and Bezos keeps shoving them down my throat.
I've put one on my Batwing that I really dig. I think I've posted pictures itt. It's the one from Bezos; I'm not sure if some of the other brands(LightMyBricks?) are better/easier. It's a bit of a pain in the ass but we've looked at the ones for Animated Batman and Home Alone
I read that too quickly, and thought you had installed a light kit on user bertwing I shudder to think which features were highlighted.
While the process sounds laborious and thankless, I'm certain the final product would be well worth the effort. It is my understanding that bertwing is not the sort to belong to any one person though.
I'm not cunty about my lego building, but having to buy Mega to satisfy my pokemon obsessed 4 year old sucks.
