My daughter loves Moana because she’s been told all her young life how much she looks like baby Moana. But even she likes Encanto more than Moana.
Roo proudly rocks her Moana dress, and now her nana bought her a "We don't talk about Bruno" shirt. She busts out with attempting every line in Surface Pressure and We don't talk about Bruno pretty much every day.
Haven’t watched Moana in a bit. Just turned it on for my kid in the other room and here I am in the kitchen belting these songs. Love that soundtrack so much
Moana in our household, by a landslide. It's almost a problem at this point. Our 19 month old, in any room with a TV, is apt to point at it and say "Nana" at increasingly loud levels until we turn it on or distract him with something else.
My sis and 7 y/o niece are attending this tonight. Going to be a bunch of adorable little Mirabels and Isabellas there this weekend
holy cow did this change for the entire family… Encanto is now without question top dog in our family. I still hate the grandma in Encanto.
1) Coco 2) Moana 3) Encanto Disclaimer: All 3 make me cry like the bitch that I am. 1) I think it’s just because I have so many close friends/relatives of Mexican-American descent. I always feel close to this story. Little Miguel begging Abuelita Coco to remember, my goodness I’m crying. 2) LMM is a genius. OK, now that the obvious is out of the way. Chef Howard here in KC, 6’5, 320 lbs of steel polybro, he talked about taking his daughters to opening night and he just poured tears the entire time never imagining them seeing a story of their heritage done so well. 3) Hard luck third. Maribel is one of my all time favorites. One of my favorite employees ever was a Salvadorian girl who had an absentee father and had to raise her little sister while caring for her sick mother, she was a dead ringer for Maribel and her heart was ten times bigger.
So the 3 year old does a thing now on the song in Moana where ghost grandma shows up and it’s a reprise of How Far I’ll Go. Right as Moana dives in to get the heart from the ocean floor she throws herself on her belly and army crawls around and says “I’m swimming daddy”. It’s absurdly cute
Their voices are all legit, and Stephanie Beatriz is a total babe. Diane Guerrero is a smoke show also, as well as the chick that voices Pepa good lord.
Yeah my wife singled out the woman that voices Pepa while we watched it and I was like it’s just an attractive female cast
It will be someone in their early to mid 20s that can play much younger imo. Not sure if Auli'i fits that bill
Dads, a few of the Wish songs are already on streaming. And the reactions to the movie so far seem to be overwhelmingly positive.
My 10 year old has been rocking out of the songs from Wish for a few days now. I’m sure we will be at the theatre on day 1.
Well yeah. They’ve been hemorrhaging money for years now. Chapek was an absolute disaster and iger has struggled to right the ship.
