Not a big fan of the outcome, but glad that NASCAR let them race back. That moment of caution shit was getting so god damn old.
Looked like Cindric either got squeezed by Larson or just got inti the wall on his own coming off the corner. It looked like the latter
Nascar is so inconsistent in when they throw their flags. I mean that wreck was on the back stretch. Did they have to immediately throw it? I've seen them let much dicey situations go to green finish
I’m very confused as a newcomer to nascar because last week they had a nearly identical scenario and let them race.
Daytona much larger track though. You get back to there at Atlanta a lot faster and those cars have very little brakes for that track
But the confusion is fair because the Xfinity race the night before had the same ending and they let them race through a hell of a lot of debris. nascar officials have been very loose on defining the caution as of late. And it’s become a point of contention with fans as well.
The inconsistency has been the issue the last couple seasons. DBC says it all the time. Having more than 1 race director seems to have really created some unclear applications of the rules.
Recently did a mortgage for an Xfinity crew chief. Obviously not saying who but was a good dude and gives me someone to root for there.
You could kind of see the wreck starting on one angle on the last lap and I thought "well they should at least get to race to the flag" and the flag was out before I had completed the thought. Zero consistency.
Remember that one year they tried to do part of it in the rain and no one could see and a bunch of cars wrecked out?
Considering driving over to Austin Sunday to check it out. The new shape puts it a lot more in line with Watkins Glen now, but that 6A - 6B hard 90s is gonna be a chaos factory I think.
I started doing a lil data project early this season and trying to churn some previews and recaps with loop data. Ross is an easy favorite candidate, but also see a couple other dudes that could pull up front based on place differentials and avg finishes on road courses.
