Sonny's is pretty solid in Germantown which is a short uber away. Will have people but not nearly as chaotic
You’d probably have better luck going somewhere like Neighbors in Germantown and it’s gonna be a short Uber/Lyft. I can’t even think of a place to watch games downtown since 2nd Avenue was suicide bombed
It's been a while since I've been for a game, but is Dawghouse still the Bama alum watch bar? I lived with a couple right out of college and that was the go to spot for Bama games. LeonardWashington mentioning Tin Roof made me think of it
I forgot about this too. I always just went to beautiful smoky Sam’s in Hillsboro Village or Crows Nest back in the 00s for all my Bama games.
only been to Lou, and for brunch. It was good and I’d definitely go back but it does have a bit of an eclectic menu Ophelia is on my list to try and a new spot. I’m always skeptical about new spots downtown because many seem to be more made for instagram rather than have quality food. Be interested what you think about it but I’m sure I’ll be trying it at some point. Never been to Noko but damn it looks good. I’ll have to add that to my list.
I really like Henrietta Red and City House in Germantown. Those are two of my favorites that are a short drive away if you want to look into those. I also like Husk which also isn’t too terribly far from where you’re staying.
Lou looks incredible I have a resy for Noko on Friday that I made two months ago. Heard nothing but good things and they are typically booked out weeks in advance.
Thanks. Henrietta Red was on my list. Might audible to that for brunch. I had a Bastion res but had to give it up because my schedule was a little too tight to fit in a dinner. Looked right up my alley though, hate to miss it.
Sam’s Hillsboro village was so great. Crow’s nest was better when it was still Box Seat, but still a good spot.
Got a rec for The Stillery next month. Is that place good? Gonna be with a group so will be downtown if there’s any recs that aren’t too touristy.
I have pretty good view of north Nashville and could see rotation and transformers popping north of the John C Tune airport about 5 minutes ago. I’m right off charlotte and it’s calm. Hope everyone is alright.
It shifted north of me and I’ve barely gotten any rain or anything. But that puts it right in the direction of all my friends out in the goodlettesville and gallatin areas unfortunately.
I know its a bit late, but I'll be back in Nashville to see my folks for Christmas and was wondering if there were any new restaurants worth trying to get reservations for? Been trying for Tailor for the last couple years with no luck so not getting my hopes up on other restaurants but figured I would try. Can't wait to hike at Radnor and Percy Warner.
i went there and thought it was the most over-rated meal of my life and dropped $800 But around the corner is Xiao Bao which is phenomenal.
Kisser for lunch in East. No reservations. Open Thurs-Monday. You check in upon arrival. Coffee shop next door to pass the time while you wait. Worth it.
ask far as new places go, I really liked Noko Jospehine is closing for good in like a month. Sad because it's one of my favorites. It's not new but if you haven't tried it before, this is probably your last chance. Good for both dinner and brunch.

Haven't been to Subculture, yet. But Redheaded Stranger is definitely worth the visit. Have you tried Hugh Baby's yet? It's different in that it's fast-food style, but I think it stacks up to Gabby's burgers,
Ha my parents apparently pick up Hugh Baby's on Charlotte every Friday night for their weekly treat I loved it when I was there back in early '21. That was a great addition to the Charlotte corridor
slug burger + chicken sando at hugh baby's on Friday is the move Subculture is great and has been around for a while. Brave Idiot used to operate out of Subculture and has a food truck in East off Gallatin. I'd personally hit up Brave Idiot over Subculture. East has a ton of new spots to try rn. SS Gai and Bay6 at the wash are also on my list.
It's become our go-to burger spot on the west side of town. Well, that and Bare Bones Butcher's burgers, but they are only open for lunch Monday-Saturday.
hey guys...considering getting a hotel with my wife and kids in downtown Nashville for a few nights during Spring Break. my kids are young (7/5/1.5). Does anybody have any recommendations for what to do? have had good luck with these types of threads and trips in the past! TIA
I've got kids 12, 9, and 7 and live in Nashville so should able to help. Downtown is fun for young adults, not necessarily the greatest for kids. Adventure Science Center is close to downtown and your kids would enjoy that. Gaylord Opryland is a nice hotel just outside of the city and has an indoor/outdoor water park. Not sure when the outdoor water park opens, but the indoor park is fun. The Nashville Zoo is decent. There are a few museums downtown like the Country Music HOF, but your kids are probably a little too young to get much enjoyment out of that. Feel free to DM me if you have any specific questions.
Don't had kids, yet. But, was going to say something about Opryland, too. I could be wrong, but I thought you had to stay there to access the water park? If that is the case, may be worth staying there for a night or two. Wouldnt recommend staying there the whole time, though, as it's pretty removed from the rest of town.
Yeah, you can usually do a stay and play where you can use the waterpark both the day you check in and the day you check out. The hotel is huge with a bunch of restaurants and shops and a huge indoor garden. The restaurants are very meh and the area around the hotel is a big mall, so worth staying a night with kids, but definitely won't really be seeing nashville itself, so may not interest y'all for this trip.
The zoo has improved by leaps and bounds over the last few years and they have quite a few events during the year that could be fun. Doubt the kids would have much fun at the Country music hall of fame. There’s a lot of arcade type places and the new indoor putt putt. Also the great big trivia game was actually fun.
I don’t know much about what to do with the kiddos but the new Jackalope brewery location has a big play area and usually has a Peruvian hot dog food truck outside of it. I think it’s a Peruvian. Anyway, there’s burger spots and donut shops in that area too and it’s really close to Geodis Park if you care about Soccer and the aforementioned Science Center
Never is also an acceptable answer. They are too busy replacing the same section of 24 out in Murfreesboro for the 97th time.
So BNA does not intend to renew the lease with Monell’s. Probably gonna demolish the manor for a runway expansion that I’m pretty sure hasn’t even been approved by the FAA.
Coming to post this. My wife mentioned that she heard they’re trying to expand for flights to Japan. Could be bullshit locker room talk at the hospital edit to add: I will be getting some fried chicken before the lease expires 4/30
The airport has been trying to get a flight to Asia approved for a while. Which makes sense given the amount of Asian investment in the Middle TN region between Nissan, LG, Mitsubishi, etc.
