It's from the same lot of barrels I'm guessing. There seems to be a decent bit of 11 year MGP rye getting around. NBC has had some, OKI has as well.

Yep. You can buy 3-4 of these for the price of one BH. NBC has theirs for like 200. The Oki I snagged was like 120 so that wasn't too bad.

Yes. Saw a guy there just yesterday and said they had a bunch.

Another great, reasonably priced rye. I'm still wanting to find one on the higher proof side of things. Like 137+ just to see what it's all about.

 

I'm pretty sure they put a new barrel out yesterday. Very similar apparently.

Ahh gotcha. It's all gone. I only snagged one myself. I should have got more.

 

I've been seeing them at Total Wine regularly now for the last month or so. Saw several 137.8 on the shelf last night when I stopped in for some beer. I grabbed one at the beginning of August that is 136-something after killing my previous one and thinking it would be difficult to beat that.

 

Highest I've seen around me is 131 or so. I'd definitely snatch some up at that proof.

 

Any thoughts on these? I’ve got some wheel time today and can swing through this rural Georgia shop.

 

I haven't seen much about either of these. I saw my local store got the Penelope today. I haven't had much of their stuff kind of curious about it.

 

I’ve seen people hype the Penelope private estate. I haven’t had it personally but would expect it to be very good MGP

 

You'd think they would have the cream of the crop barrels now.

 

This was the most generous review I saw. Others were pretty meh, most all favoring Woodford double oak to this.

They did. It was awesome!

 

Great time. Hit Castle and Key, Buffalo Trace, Angel's Envy, Michter, Bardstown, Brown and Forman, then Woodford.
Buffalo Trace had done Blanton's Wednesday, WSR on Thursday and Eagle Rare on Friday. So was sure we were getting EHT on Saturday.
Sigh, Blanton's again.

Thoughts on the Heaven Hill bottled in bond? It’s started showing up here. I’m assuming 100 proof 7 year heaven hill juice is going to be good there are just so many new bottles in the market now I can’t keep up.

 

I don't think it's anything special, but others can chime in.

 

It's not bad for what it is. I assume it's around the $50 price point?

 

Yeah I think that’s where I’ve seen it.

 

It gets really good reviews by some of the social media whisky influencers. I have a bottle but never tried it.

 

It's solid but definitely isn't going to blow you away.

 

If you are newer to bourbon give it a shot, if you drink a lot of higher proof stuff it will taste like toothpick water

 

I’ve been in the bourbon game for awhile but I’m also not a high proof only bro. I like Elmer t Lee and ECBP (edit to add this is a comment about proof) I’m just kind of stuck on the regular rotation of stuff I like and curious about some of the newer stuff out there
