Hey all. Coming to town with my GF in a couple of weeks. I've probably been to NOLA 10 times, but I'm a rookie to Frenchmen St. We are staying at Crowne Plaza at corner of Canal and Bourbon. Is it safe for just the two of us to walk to Frenchmen St after dark? I've walked to Port of Call many times, but that was always during the day and usually with more than just one other person. Thanks in advance for any help!

yes. Just walk down bourbon and cut over to royal or charters once you pass lafittes. Y’all will be fine

edit: recommend blue Nile and dba

My fiancée’s bachelorette is this weekend. They are staying in a large Airbnb near Claiborne and Esplanade.

I haven’t been in a while but I don’t remember that area being all that great.

Anyone have any recommendations on where I can order breakfast/brunch food for 12 on Saturday morning. Delivery preferred but not required.

Camelia Grille is about 10 minutes away. Classic uptown spot. Idk if you can order it delivered through a service.

Or you could always just do a bunch of beignets and coffee from Cafe du Monde.

that would be an understatement. But it forces you to take a shuttle of some kind which is safer than walking from the quarter to some place.

One of those is close to my place in NOLA. It's decent -- not up to par of the traditional Nola restaurants, but I think it'd be fine for a hungover brunch.

I've eaten Ruby Slipper a few times, nothing amazing but very solid.

Chicken St. Charles & Eggs Cochon are my favorites, Migas is good, and not sure if it's still on the menu but they had a Costa Rica break feast which was also solid.

Get the cinnamon roll pancakes if they still have them. Think there was a pancake flight as well. Good hangover food there for sure.

Here for 3 weeks, basically until Thanksgiving.

So far have tickets to shows at Tipitina's and Preservation Hall, going to see at least two Pelicans' games, and going to Bears @ Saints on Sunday with the family. Pretty prettttty stoked

Been to Bacchanal countless times, it's my go-to when friends are visiting.

HiHo is an awesome music venue, but I think their Mexican is overrated AF. But I'm spoiled.

I'm a sucker for Asian cuisine and seafood. Heading to Margie's Grill tonight, never been.

Going to try Mosquito Supper Club one day while I'm here, too.

Looking for a very specific suggestion for Bama-LSU on Saturday night. My parents will be in town, and they despise crowds and loud noises. My dad also has really bad hearing, so can't do bars or really anything above a low hum. I realize that eliminates like 99% of bars.

Normally I'd just do Rusty Nail, but thinking it will be a little more crowded because of LSU. Is there anywhere that would fit this criteria? Would it be easier to just watch at my place?

Cooter Browns may be loud because it is LSU and at night, but it may be viable

Got a Hinge date with a local chic tonight and we're going on a dive-bar tour of Treme. Starting at Kermit's Mother-in-Law Lounge, then the Goat, then Kajuns karaoke bar, then St. Roch Tavern.

This girl is going to drink me under the table based on our conversations thus far.

Very uneventful, nothing to write home about. Came home alone.

Did do a thrilling rendition of ol Jim Morrison's People are Strange, though

The Doors are my go-to karaoke because he really just talks in a lot of his songs instead of sings.
