I didn’t say I didn’t have an opinion on what conferences look better to me at the end of a season. I said it’s nearly impossible to compare any of them, so having something that is a known goal and a consistent achievement that all teams know about when the season starts is good. You want to introduce even more personal bias because you have a lot of it, and think it will benefit you.
I'd argue it's you that have the bias and will benefit from auto seeds. Again, just rank the teams and seed them accordingly. Why even have the rankings if the format is going to jumble them all up? Or if you want to have auto byes, at least re-seed after every round and 1 gets the lowest seed left in r2. If that's a team that got a bye, so be it.
this isn’t tangentially related to bama no sir dbl is just defending the integrity of the beautiful game
You would argue anything. I’m not talking about the actual teams and conferences from this season. I’m talking about setting the rules year to year to fill a 12 team playoff in a system nowhere near designed to do that. The rankings are the most biased thing there is in CFB.
I'm fine with conferences winners getting an auto bid, I just don't like the seeding being bastardized by auto seeds.
dude take it to the seeding thread this is the orange bowl thread where we laugh at James Franklin and Drew Allar
You’re spamming a game thread with your inane conference talk. If Missisippi St got a favorable schedule and only had LSU and Ole Miss and went 11-1 and missed the playoffs, you’d lose your shit. SOS is garbage because SEC teams are overrated, so wins over SEC teams hold more weight for the winners and not as much weight for the loser. The committee got it right from the parameters they set. If you want to complain there are literally 35 threads asking if X deserves to be in. Ruin that.
You think ASU and Boisie should have been bumped ahead of ND in the seeds? You think ND should be capped at 5 for a seed even if they are undefeated? I'm arguing for a system that woukd benefit ND and you and others still want to argue bc you'll do so on anything I say lol.
Trying to pretend he’s on NDs side now DBL rolling himself into a sourdough pretzel on this Friday morning
Ehh, it just happens that the system i dislike also screws ND. My thoughts on it have nothing to do with ND.
I don't think Franklin called the formation on the final FG but I wasn't really thinking of that play when I made the post. also, kind of a weird gotcha but you do you man.
Franklin was fine last night. There weren’t any mind numbing coaching things. ND just made the plays on the margins and PSU (mostly Allar) did not. ND WRs and TE stepped up huge and made multiple contested and tough catches, especially early and Leonard put it on them. Leonard threw 2 picks but vastly outplayed Allar and we just couldn’t have that to win this game. PSU kinda owned the trenches but it didn’t matter because our QB came up infinitesimally small.
ND has beaten 3 top 10 teams in a row including demolishing the team that beat Texas twice. What are we arguing exactly?
I know it was mentioned either here or the ND thread, but actually seeing the box score is incredible. Penn State WRs 0 catches for -3 yards
He's so good. And he seems like a good kid. I love that he publicly leans into his Star Wars nerdiness. That's indicative of the kind of balance that can keep him grounded well enough to sustain a long and very successful pro career. He and Warren will both make some NFL teams very happy.
As a old Bengals fan who was around in the 80s for those AFC Central matchups, you just triggered my PTSD.
I think you're overrating Texas. Texas allowed Gunner Stockton to beat them...that Notre Dame then disposed of with ease. You're not alone on the Texas front. But they are going to get destroyed tonight; and ND would have as well. If Ohio State had played Oregon this round rather than last...I think ppl would view the bracket as being more balanced.
using two mid as fuck white QBs to put down a great rookie QB who happens to be back just smells like racism to me
I gave way too little respect to PSU. Dudes all over the field. Really thought we were toast but this team is tough man.
Jesus look at Carter on this play. Lines up at the top, beats his block, runs down the play, and probably would have made a tackle if the CB didn’t knock Love back inside a little.
