I like that Deer Creek and Alpine fall at opposite ends. At 40 years old with kids I'm not hopping from one to the next in a row, but this makes it possible I could get to both.
I’ll do MPP and Dick’s for sure. 50/50 on Raleigh. Honestly, not super enamored with 3 nights at the Wharf over Memorial Day weekend. It’s already going to be a shitshow down there, and Phish just adds to it. Hoping we get fall tour with October dates in Atlanta and Nashville, but not going to hold my breath.
MPP and Toronto have me interested. Phish in Canada just seems cool, but will be to close to my Goose trip. Wharf probably just to easy logistically to pass up, but Holiday weekend in OB? As mentioned… what a shit show.
I went ahead and booked 3 nights at the Wharf on-site hotel a couple of weeks ago just in-case but I’m similarly on the fence like you guys. I pretty much only get one Phish trip per summer tour now so I have to make it count and tour openers in OB on Memorial Day doesn’t get me excited.
Staying at the wharf will make it easier. However the condo I stay it is close to the Florida/Bama line. Not ideal on a big weekend and traveling to the wharf
If you only get one Phish trip this summer, don’t waste it opening weekend in Orange Beach unless that’s by far the easiest/cheapest/least stressful. I recall you’ve never done Dick’s, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Deer Creek and Alpine would also be preferred weekends to Orange Beach for me.
Im leaning Deer Creek. That’s a bit of a bucket list Phish thing for me. Brother has a roof top tent on his truck, only 7 hour drive, would be a good time.
Y’all in here really sleeping on Phish at the Wharf. Does help that I have a sober friend who lives in Pensacola who’s place I can stay at and he’ll drive/come to the show with us.
Anybody ever done Deer Creek camping and have any thoughts on the various sites? Seems like a lot of folks swear by the on-site camping and others like a little chiller vibe with Sleepy Bear or Close By.
WSP in Columbia this weekend...should be some quality shows. I can't make it, unfortunately, as the GF and I are "self-quarantining" ahead of our trip to Vancouver next week. Posters look sweet
This really needs to happen. Someone in the thread suggested playing the Seinfeld theme at MSG, which would make my heart explode
Yeah. Studio stuff can be meh with them and these type of bands. However the release today seems like it could be awesome live
Some of this stuff is showing their Indie rock influences. I like Borne and it has potential for some spacey/trippy Slow Ready type jams, the studio song and video have strong Indie rock vibes. Whatever Borne goes into next on the album sounds like it might be a heater. Digging this one too. New Album should drop before summer. Dripfield is the title track. There are a lot of FTP/ Debuts in winter tour as well. Probably missing some but from memory. Dr. Darkness Pancakes Atlas Dogs Arise Red Bird Silver Rising A lot of those shows had FTP songs as 1st or 2nd song in set 2, including a Great Blue FTP (Jeff Engborg).
Love Pancakes and Jeff Enborg. Also looks like I’m this new albums we will be getting studio versions of slow ready and Honey Bee just to name a few.
I’m for sure doing: 2 nights at 9:30 club in DC next week. Charleston in Apr. Raleigh in Jun FredFest whenever it’s announced. Slipped on planning for RedRocks but not sure I can pull it off.
I think so. Not sure who gets writing credit though. Not that it’s some lyrical masterpiece. https://www.tedhonks.com/
Whoa shots fired. “Most definitely, it’s the gravity bong. The devil himself came and sang me his song Tastes good, not too harsh, what it did, it went straight to my heart.” Needs to be stitched on a throw pillow in the DUCKMOUTH household
Rick has written some incredibly beautiful lyrics. Peters writing credits while fun aren’t anything special. Not sure who wrote it, the Doobie Song ain’t one of those masterpieces.
Phish show tonight. Pretty serious 40 min sound check jam yesterday. I love how they step on stage for first time in two months and within 2 minutes they are jamming better than anyone in the world. Just an otherworldly connection.
https://mega.nz/folder/wV4WzIRK#ut6AwbmzHFr5MuTxtC7oXw Thought the first 10-12 minutes were really good. Then Trey kinda goes off from about 36-39 min mark. Jam peaks.
He’s a super nice dude. I always see him at the brewery preshow. Talked to him for a while at Cerebral this summer.
I would love to know what he does for a living. He seems to have unlimited money and time off for doing legs/entire tours. Seems like a super nice guy
