With only a few fall Billy shows in the SE and no Phish fall tour, we just picked up floors for Goose at The Anthem and Goosemas in Charleston.
Eggy going to be at Salvage Station in Asheville opening for Umphrey’s Aug 30-31, but I won’t be able to go.
Saw Trey with the National Symphony last night at Wolf Trap. Absolutely loved it, and, of course, Trey was beaming -- huge grin the entire night.
I don’t know if I posted in here but we saw Jefferson Starship with the Greensboro Symphony a few months ago. Definitely a few steps below seeing Bobby or Trey with a bigger symphony, but it was fun.
So listening to HF Pod my first ever show, 7/24/99, is the quintessential drug fueled arrogance 99 show. (Not necessarily in a good way)
I know basically nothing about guitar gear but videos or articles about this stuff still fascinate me.
Caught some of the Brownstein family band stream last night. Was not bad, played a biscuits tune. Barber sat in. It is Marc Brownstein (Disco Biscuits) Zach Brownstein (Marc’s son) Jake Brownstein (Eggy) Dani Battat (Eggy)
Really enjoyed the Cosmic Country acoustic set. I would love a set like this with Daniel on acoustic and Sugarlegg on just piano/no organ. I fucking love when they do Darlin’ Cory > Arkansas Traveler. https://2nu.gs/3VArr5m
For those with Nugs. Such a great spacey jam in the middle of this one by Eggy. https://2nu.gs/4a4wyRh
Good written interview with Trey that Rolling Stone dropped today: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...hish-jerry-garcia-new-album-drugs-1235053957/
The Outpost at New River Gorge was phenomenal. Great campground and venue with cabin, RV, and various tent options. Basically unlimited outdoor adventures within minutes. We did a 6 hour rafting trip Friday with plenty of time to get back for the show. Kitchen Dwellers and Arkansauce had Adam Aijala from Yonder with them too. Dwellers busted into The Boatman’s Dance and it took me back to 99-00 Yonder in a flash. Good shit. Booked for Daniel Donato in Sept as soon as I woke up this morning.
Enjoyed the tiny desk. Sounded good. Not jammy of course but that was expected. Still a fun little set
Just got around to listening to the Rose City Band album from last year. Damn that’s good. It’s got me going back through all of their stuff again.
https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/phish-king-gizzard-msg-trey-anastasio-eggy/ Phish was going to cover King Gizz at MSG, practiced Interior People for months then found out Eggy was playing it and pulled the plug.
Just want to say I got back from the Biscuits run on Wednesday and if you ever have a chance to check out the windjammer in SC, fucking do it
Yeah, great place to catch a show on the beach. When I lived in the area I was on James Island and it was a bitch to drive over there though. Think I saw my first post Jeff yonder show there. Been reminiscing big time this week.
Didn’t know they had a separate release; I really enjoyed the self titled album. thx for the heads up
The fact that these guys are like 60 and just crank out that Theme From the Bottom to open night 2 of a tour is insane
Booked this trip for that weekend. RIP Drew Swinney Esq https://adventuresonthegorge.com/whitewater-rafting/upper-gauley-river-rafting-full-day/
Really regretting missing this Alpine run. Give My Friend My Friend from last night a listen, you won't regret it
