Most realistic summer calendar: MSG------ 7/20-23 [attending] 7/26 7/28-30 8/1 8/3-6 [attending] Dick's ------ 9/1-3 [attending] Fall tour------ would be tight
This is a thread for us to talk about the music we like (phish, Grateful Dead, greensky bluegrass, jrad, widespread panic) not to debate whether it's good music
Just my opinion, but Hood has lost a bit of its luster over the years for me. Tonight was an exception. It was absolutely loaded with energy and Trey murdered the peak. Very refreshing
That 2nd set looks amazing, can't wait to listen tomorrow Saw SCI with Big Gigantic guesting during the 2nd set... it was decent. Had a tasty jellyfish going and then mixed in some wompy shit from Big G and just lost everything
Tiffin What did you think? I thought the 30th was the best played show overall but the 31st crowd was bigger and more rowdy. Thought the biscuits played really well for most of their sets, which has not been par for the course lately. Countdown on the 31st was wizards in winter, which was cool. I had a good time. Only went Friday. Kinda wish I could have made Saturday, but I slept all of 3 hours Friday night, I barely made it to midnight NYE ha. I didn't know there was going to be an opener, so we rushed to get in thinking we were good. We walk in, and hour plus after doors, and were two of about 17 people there. Kinda sucked because I would have rather spent that time out in the lot. As for the show, It was fun. Great lights, enjoyed the jams. Safety Dance cover made me laugh.
Atlanta is my home away from home for shows. So ~2.5 hours to go see a weekend of quality shows is worth it to me.
you're absolutely right I shouldn't hate on other people's music choices. Seen them plenty but I just don't get UM. I recognize their talent and ability, but I just can't find the groove. It all seems so rushed, and every time it seems like they're about to jam something they seem to spaz off into a different direction. Plus the vocals are just...not good--and this is coming from a guy who spends most of his day listening to trey.
I ain't judging. I'll be hitting up JRAD, moe x4 and the i love the 90s tour all in the next few months
My list is all over the place.. I had friends that just went up to JRAD at the Ryman and I'm jealous af because I likely won't see them again until Lockn. I've got umph this weekend with Sunsquabi and CBDB late night options. Greensky bluegrass, lotus, moe. x 2 or 3, Tauk, Papadosio, SW420 fest, Summer Camp, Dead and Co, and Lockn all lined up for 2017 so far.
I'm slowly leaning back towards Lockn. We were all pretty much done with it, but they're lineup is more in line with the first 3 years so we're talking about it again. Glad I already got tickets to SW420. They should be filling out the rest of their lineup next week according to twitter.
