Any interest from the Tigers fan on a Riley Greene Elite Extra patch /25
I hate how much I enjoy chasing Robert in series 2 retail.
Ok so I put into the $1 raffle to win the PSA 10 Giannas or Acuña cards but what is the value of them? Just curious
Ouch, I ripped 5 blasters and 5 of those relic boxes and only ended up with 1 Robert and I felt terrible after all that $150, first time in my short return to this hobby I felt completely wasted my money.
I don't know about the Giannis, but I've been chasing that Acuna for some time now and I've seen them go for 1700-2700. Where is that raffle cause I would buy in a few bucks.
StockX has it. $1 bid, $6 all in pretty much. Don’t win, don’t pay
New Griffey card is pretty sweet. Think it'll be the 2nd I'll order
That's the problem with Series 2. It's a one card set. Robert rookie sells now $20-25 on eBay, you can buy complete sets including Robert for like $28-30ish. It's kind of funny
Ive also ripped a lot of opening day hanger boxes a few weeks ago because there is a SP Robert in there that goes for like $80-100 and the hangers are like $5 each. I saw a website say the odds are like one of his SP in 10 blasters (haven't seen blasters available). I've bought like 7-8 hangers and spent $40 or so on maybe $5 worth of cards if that. At least opening day has Lux, Alvarez and Bichette rookies too, but they are so common it's probably not even a $1 card.
I'm set. Spent too much on his Bowman auto to justify spending more. Also not a huge patch guy
I will just buy a blaster or a couple fat packs every so often, nothing too crazy. I’d say I’ve opened 4-5 blasters and maybe 10-15 fat packs/banger boxes. Got a wild pull today out of retail
Ok so explain this to me like I'm12. I bid $1 but if I don't win I don't pay the $1. If I win I only pay $1. So how are they making money on this? Or what's the angle for them behind this. Those are expensive cards to just give away for $1
I’ll be getting this one
Yep. They do it from time to time with things. I think it’s mainly to drive site traffic but yep that’s the way it works
But if you win because of tax and shipping you pay like $6 on a $1 bid.
GIannis is worth ~$4k
I mean the chances are slim but for $6 it’s a decent investment
Might as well throw your hat in the ring, for sure. I remember buying two of those Giannis PSA 10s for $100 and I thought it seemed a little steep at the time.
Is the 10 worth $550 from a guy I know?
Edit, didn't see the 1st edition at first, still a bit high
That motherfucker LOL
To be fair it looks like that was an ok price a few weeks ago, but when more come back and hit market price goes down. Looks like end of may to early July the prices were $600 or more. But 2 of last 3 were $50 or more below that and one I linked was most recent sold
dblplay1212 His prices will come down. Just wait
The 1st edition Bowman’s are very valuable, but 550 seems high.
Also a lesson why you never buy a card right after release. His first bgs 10 of that card on eBay went over $1000.
It’s also a lesson that if you get a hot card sell that shit.
Was at the LCS last week and the Ja 1/1 got a 425k offer
No. Absolutely not. Unless you truly want that Pristine 10 for your personal collection, never pay a premium for Beckett's 10.
I hadn’t bought any baseball cards in 15 years at least but this summer I’ve been grabbing one of those 7 pack boxes of Topps 2020 at the checkout here and there. Found I kind of missed it. I pulled a chrome Ted Williams 1/1 with a gold chrome border the other day. Any idea what that’s worth?
You got a nice couple hundred dollar card I'd imagine. Babe Ruth equivalent went for $500 on eBay. I assume it's the Turkey Red superfractor? Amazing pull, congrats
Gracias. Yeah, it’s the Turkey Red deal. I have a few other guys that are /50 and /99 and whatnot that are shown on eBay at around $20-25. What’s the best way to see the money from that? Hold it, sell it? I haven’t ever sold anything on eBay so I might not be seen as trusted. Take it to a card shop?
Edit: I’m certainly not opposed to holding things. I enjoy the hunt and like keeping the ones that really strike a chord with me, just don’t want to hang on to something that isn’t sentimental if the price is right.
Broke with Midwest breaks last night of museums and got the Cards ended up getting a Lou Brock auto /25 pulled and a base Flaherty.
Was just checking ebay and saw that bieber stuff Is crazy, I need to get to the basement and throw mine up on Ebay. I probably got a couple hundred of him and some gold, and vintage . Also I sold his topps chrome gold psa 10 last year for like $175. Somebody just sold one for $750
I have gone a little overboard sniping Robert stuff on eBay that is sold underpriced. They have gone up and down but consistently between $19 and $26 for topps . Between ones I've pulled and ones I've found I'm up to 10. The 5x7 I got a few weeks ago already selling over double what I paid. Also found a complete set of bowman Chrome's for $60 and the Robert 1st from that set is selling $80+ alone, think it was listed a while and people didn't find it because it was listed as a complete set. The Robert in it is in pristine condition, just got it in mail.
Thinking of flipping the whole collection to buy a SSP. Not sure if that's a better option or if I should just hold them and send them all for grading. Only one of the Topps base doesn't look gradable. Could also flip some Topps base and grab the SP. SP currently sells like $200-250. If you get lucky you can get the SSP about $800
if you have a local Casey’s General Store, check for Mosaic cello’s. Just found 6 at a local one. Brother found some in KC
Plus grab a tasty breakfast pizza while your there.
Can't wait for the bubble to burst and all this stuff has a dramatic price drop.
Topps Chrome baseball about to be wild
Prices are going to be crazy I feel
I'm always in the mindset of "when it doubt, grade it out" but with PSA (and now BGS) hiking up grading prices for modern cards it really puts you in a bind on those $20 cards. You've got to look them over REAL close and make sure it is a 10 or else you just spent $12 to turn your $20-25 card into a $25-30 card. Still worth a gamble IMO but I'm no longer sending in those $5-10 cards in hopes it turns into a $60 card.
Earlier this year you could go into Target and buy blasters and fat packs of 2019 Prizm football easy. Unless something happens soon that's going to be a pipe dream this fall.
I go to Target 3-4 times a week looking for fat packs. Bought 14 the other day, one Robert...
I so badly want to buy a box or two and hold for 6 months or a year. No way I could do it though.
I'm on a roll in bowman getting hits, but not best names. Out of town for a job interview and went to two card shops in the area. Bought a bowman blaster at first place, must have been a hot box, pulled a blue /499 paper Nick Bennett (1st bowman), chrome green /99 Jeremy Pena (1st bowman), and a paper purple /250 auto of Logan Ice. Also pulled a chrome Robert, but it's the version with no rookie stamp so I don't think it's worth much. Whiffed on Jasson and Witt
After I checked into hotel found another card shop nearby and went to grab some toploader to protect my hits, they had some bowman fat packs so I bought two with my toploaders. First had a paper Cole Stobbe auto in it. Second had a Red Shimmer #5/5 Alek Thomas in it.
Alek thomas is going to be a stud I think. I would hold for sure. Thats a nice little streak you are on.
After months of not being able to find any singles for sets 5 suddenly appear in less than a week. This all coincidentally happened at the same time that free extra $600 a week runs out for the jobless. Government needs to stop conspiring against me, I pay way too much in taxes to be stabbed in the back like this.
Found some Topps chrome at a Walmart near my hotel. Bought two blasters and six hangers. There were more but wanted to leave some for others, but a guy walked up after my and put rest in his cart so good luck people finding it. I'm opening mine when I get home. I'll let you guys know how I do.
