So Karlos Nasar at 89 beat the 102s in C&J by 4 kilos and only out totaled by gigachad by 2, what a freak. Akbar supposedly had to drop 25 kilos to make weight in the last year, original plan was to go super heavyweight then decided to drop. Still almost won.
hensleya your buddy coop just shouted out the preacher pad as a replacement for single use machines like a preacher curl bench.
So I’ve got about 3 weeks straight of being able to work out at my usual frequency and have been able to slowly add more and more weight without my elbow blowing up. Things are looking up, but swelling is still a problem. I hate putting on tape, anyone think a compression sleeve might help? If so any recommendations?
It’s a very minimal impact for it. It’s of course a greater than zero increase than not taking it but is going to a doc and getting Rx out of the question? Tribulus and enclomiphene are combos you can do but again we’re talking low end increase. If you need to increase test by the hundreds you’ll want to go the injectable route
Yeah last years check up my blood work came back and doc just said “your testosterone is a little low probably because you are stressed” and I was just like “thanks.” Probably going to ask to investigate that route if it’s low again this year. I’ve been taking DHEA which I’ve noticed some benefit from, I’m recovering between sets faster and endurance and energy are up but not a ton else apart from my hair growing faster.
What were the levels? My doc tried the whole "work out, eat better, sleep more"....like bruh I do that. Haven't gotten retested yet, but I feel like be gotten more energy. Def all of a sudden can bench 40 more lbs.
Part of that equation is obviously going to be creatine. I would have to imagine that walk-one are included in that 1,400 lbs, so let’s say it is 100 guys. 14 lbs each isn’t that crazy, especially when you consider that linemen have massive frames, so there are a good amount of guys who added 20ish pounds of muscle. *Of course, some of those guys likely used PEDs, but I doubt it is as many as people think.
Read some of the peptide talk a few pages back and seeing if anyone had any other insight/reading material on it. Background - Been dealing with what I think (thought?) was golfers elbow for legit 3 years now. Work out around it but I'm fucking tired of it and willing to do whatever. I went to a sports med place that has incredible reviews last week and they immediately started doing the "Graston Technique" on the elbow with laser treatment on it after. Always thought that shit was cooky but whatever I was there and figured what the hell. Anyways they haven't pushed the peptides yet but they do offer it and the more I've looked into it the more intrigued I am. Going to ride with their current treatment plan but if things aren't improving in a timely manner I think I'm open to trying it if they offer it to me.
I was always impressed with myself for doing doubles of 635 to end my leg days. Then you watch videos of these guys, and you realize that there’s absolute other orders of magnitude of strength out there. Unreal.
Starts tomorrow, wondering how many people get hurt with these events. My back hurts just reading this, excited to watch it 2024 Strongest Man on Earth Events Max Raw Deadlift Overhead Medley — Log Lift and Axle Press Power Medley — will feature grip and movement Manhood Stones Circus Dumbbell Overhead Medley — head-to-head format Keg Toss Squat Fingal’s Fingers Into Power Stairs Medley — head-to-head format
Thoughts. I tore my bicep and shoulder tendons about a year and a half ago. Had surgery, did rehab got the okay to workout. Been working out and progressing but now my left arm and shoulder seem to be getting stronger than my right. My question is when doing unilateral work should I use the same weight for both arms or use heavier weight for my stronger side? TIA
Year 4 of being the strongest dude at my gym. Thanks as always to hensleya; been awesome watching your IG grow!
Whoa whoa whoa, hold up on that “gainz” talk. I’ve been doing “bodybuilding” programming for six months. It’s a compromise as now I still do not resemble a bodybuilder, but nor am I strong.
If it were me I’d stick to compound lifts and do single arm accessories for the weaker side until it caught up, or if that’s not an option I’d just do the same weight for both
Full disclosure: Mrs. Tamland pays for Kristie Eramo O’Connell’s IBEX programming. I’ve been using her login and following the bodybuilding circuit. It is completely possible that this is a female-specific body building program as the leg work is predominantly hamstring and glute focused. That said, my peach has never looked better
Watching #HampTheChamp in Paris did make me want to get back under heavy weights. Never reached the 1,000# club, think I could do that now that I’m into my old man strength years.
Speaking of, that’s the biggest mistake I did with my buildout. Initially bought a set of pairs: 10, 15, 25, 35, 45, 55. Bought additional sets of 10, 15, and 25. Would have done six 10, four 25, four 45.
Big shipment coming Tuesday for the showroom. Lots of Eleiko and Torque. Excited to finally be able to build some equipment!
Following big booty gym girls on Instagram is another good way to accidentally become posterior chain dominant
Your floor square footage is (almost) always be your limiting factor. I’d like to switch to storing plates on my rack instead of this plate stand. Rack storage would be so much better with just three plate increments (plus change plates but whatever.)
I thought me stepping away from competing and getting “weaker” would be tougher than it has been. I haven’t looked back for one second and I’m actually enjoying training now.
Awesome watch, Thor won 3/4 but down bc his pressing isn’t good after torn pec A lot of dudes got greedy on stones and didn’t get any, including Tom
A whole lot of controversy over the squat today. 820 pound squat that supposedly had some mechanism where it you hit your depth point(each was measured beforehand for the apparatus) too hard a red light goes off. More than half the field didn’t get a rep, fucking Thor got 3, and Lucas Hatton who’s a tank got 2nd with 5. Mitch Hooper somehow got 10 that looked high by even old Westside barbell multi-ply standards that were bouncing hard at the bottom Did he somehow game the depth measurements, they line it up wrong, or was everyone watching dealing with an optical illusion. Did this with Shaw right in front of him too The guy killed the competition and would have won if he only completed 1 but really bad look tl;dr good talk
Singleton likely got fucked on a good deadlift, think a bad call by Ed Coan They also had a pressing medley where they messed up the axles and everyone but Pavlo failed the first axle then they realized the mistake I don’t particularly like Shaw’s views on many things but he takes this very seriously and great event to watch and trying to make it the premier event, the squat was fucking bullshit they need an explanation plain and simple, either Mitch cheated the system or another major fuckup.
