RANT Why is that every bro on the street who comes up to me and asks for lifting advice (generally its about looking big and jacked) suddenly get upset when i tell them to squat and deadlift? And then they try to waste my time attempting too convince me.... The guy who they asked for advice that their silly workout is enough. Well obviously it isnt dumbass... Because if it was then you wouldnt be asking me why you arent getting big. What. The. Fuck. If i had a red cent...
Got a belt squat attachment from Fringe. Like it so far. Dislike the fact that I now have to buy iron plates bc I max out the room with bumpera pretty quick
How is the ROM on that one? I set up my belt squat currently with a beater bar perpendicular across my rack with pin and pipe safeties as a pivot point. However, I have to step on these blocks for full ROM and it’s a pain to set up. So was wondering if this lets you get low enough without the set up.
That’s great to hear. One of those things I have been looking at for a while so I might pull the trigger on it soon.
Seems can be a little versatile piece of equipment. Pretty sure I could do some RDLs, single arm Rows, and some other stuff on it. Pretty easy to take on/off the rack. Was worried about the load. Says it can handle 900lbs, but can't stack more than 4 or so bumpers on it. Gonna waste some money on iron plates
That’s what I was thinking too. I have done RDLs, meadows rows, etc with my current set up but I have to set up the pin, get the bar in, then a safety arm to load the plates, set up the boxes… It just becomes too difficult so I just have skipped doing it. But this loaded from the front sounds much better. Thankfully for me at least I have enough iron plates to load it up but yeah if you only have bumpers that weight horn will fill up quick.
There's probably some reason all these docs are so ignorant on this subject but it is wild to me how many of them want to put people on a protocol that will fuck them up. Every 2 weeks is a terrible idea, I personally wouldn't do more than every 3 days. You have the right idea though, start on 100mg a week, 2 shots a week, and then retest and see where your at. That protocol won't have you hitting crazy peaks and valleys and will minimally put you at a much better level. 100mg a week puts me at around 600 total but I have really low SHBG so I don't bind much test up so at that total test level my free test is in the upper limits, which is mostly what really matters.
She seems to have dropped the "every other week" and suggested starting at 75mg a week. Agreed upon targeting 600-1000. So we have a goal to hit. It is what Mayo clinic has a recommended starting point and she's open to adjust and increase dosages up as needed. I'd prefer it be 100mg, but I think I'm okay starting at 75 to have it covered by insurance, and then hoping to adjust it up in a few months.
Considering your test levels are completely tanked, even 75mg should get you feeling a lot better. I'm sure you will have to go up some from there but I prefer to start low and work up, not like we are trying to do an actual cycle over here, and your going to have to be on test for the rest of your life so best to be very conservative.
Yeah, so lets say I get to 500, I can bump to 100mg in November. Considering the long term need, I think I'd rather hit up $10 a month script vs $100 online
Saw SHBG mentioned- are there any ways to reduce that? I historically hover above 50 nmol/L so my free T is always single digits pg/mL. My estradiol and other markers look fine
Unfortunately I deal with the exact opposite issue but I haven't found anything compelling to move it other than "being healthier". I recently went to a urologist to deal with some of this stuff and I asked her how I could raise mine. She had zero idea and said they don't even test SHBG which is just hilarious considering it's effect on free testosterone.
My basic googling shows at least a consensus on 2 things- boron and tongkat ali, though the efficacy of either is anecdotal at best.
I plan on watching nascar each sunday and jabbing a needle into my arm. Nice lil $4.70 script. Beats 100-150 a month
