Not nearly as strong has some of you hoss's but hit 325 on the bench the other day for a lifetime PR and 1.5x body weight bench which has been my goal for a while. Puts my big 3 total around 1130. End of year goal is to have that over 1250 which would be pretty neat for me.
Bench is a social construct made by the bourgeoise to oppress the proletariat. In this thesis I will…
Anyone have tee shirt brands that fit in the shoulders without looking like dresses from the chest down?
Got a bug up my ass and wondered how close I was to 1,000# club. Have an Olympic lifter buddy coming over in the morning to coach and record me. Hopefully knocking out 750# club and seeing what the road ahead looks like.
I’m also considering a push to the 1000 lb club. I don’t do 1 rep maxes much but I’m currently doing 275x10 on dead’s, 225x10 on squat and 225x5 on bench. I’m probably near 850 total if I had to guess, and I definitely think my room to grow is on the legs. I’d like to do this but not gain weight, currently weighing at 190. I realize I’m hurting my gains by doing this but also trying to do some cardio Currently sick so I’m probably back to square 1 but I’ll probably get the itch to push for it
I haven’t trained strength in 2yrs. Last 1RMs were 185, 250, 335. Pretty confident I’ll land around 800# today.
Currently taking a month off, have just done bikeerg. Resting HR down a bit, just trying to find some realistic goals
I haven’t “maxed out” on bench in a long time. Last time I pushed it I got stuck reaching for a third rep alone in my basement. I think the only reason I was able to get out of it was the motivation of “do you really want them to find your body like this”.
Went pretty well, didn’t push too hard on anything so I think I could have fucked around for another 5# or so on each lift. April 2022 / Today Bench 185 / 225 Squat 250 / 295 Pull 335 / 395 Total 770 / 915 Assuming all my lifts are approved, 750# shirt should be on the way and I’ve got 85# to go for 1,000#. Really have to get my squat up.
If I had to guess off those numbers I'd put you at: Bench - 260ish Squat - 315ish Dead - 350ish Total - 925ish
Let’s do a total with front squat, overhead press, and…..idk. Trap bar is easier so that doesn’t make sense.
I've been thinking about devoting some more time to strict overhead pressing. my 1 rep max is like 175 which I feel like sucks with my bench being 325.
I don’t do heavy strict overhead press anymore because I think the injury risk outweighs any benefits. Lots of other ways to train shoulders
The only reason I do it is because my shoulder is still jacked so my primary pressing movements are overhead and incline bench. I don’t really disagree with you
Stone Cold Steve Austin when I grounded him and he was trying to snitch to get a reduced sentence so he could get back to his WoW.
had to check and see if I made the 1000lb club. when I was 23 I joined friends for a bench day and worked up to a 310lb single, then failed twice on 315. At the time i could do 3x10 dumbbell presses with 100s and 3x10 incline flies with 85s, so it wasn't crazy to have a nice single. I am 42 now and pretty sure I am maxed with my injury history. I still am 10lbs from a double bodyweight squat and that was a goal i wanted to get last year. all time bests since i started S/B/D stuff in 2017. squat: 360 deadlift: 455 bench: 250
DL 495 3X3. Yesterday. Wanted a medium day. Nothing punishing. First set was just to warm up but it felt so light i decided to keep it nice and light. So did 2 more with ease. I had way more in the tank. Today i benched 225 3x15 because i just keep tweaking my shoulder slightly and dont want to fuck with it. hensleya please contact Pepin and tell him im not happy that i wont get my adjustables til November. Im still so fucking lazy. I need to get my mats into my home gym so i can start DL
Shit for me probably squat 525-550 Bench 300?? No idea Deadlift I pulled 605 the other day so we’ll say that
Best guesses for current based off my top sets Bench: 275 (265x2) Squat: 335 (315x6) Dead: 405 (385x5) Best in recent memory (last 5 years) Bench: 305 Squat: 355 Deadlift: 425 Where do I buy Tren?
The last time I tried was 275, 425, 475 at 185 lbs. My bench sucks and always will suck and I’m going to just have to live with that
Am I the only guy whose highest squat 1RM was significantly higher than his deadlift 1RM? I’ve never done more then 585 on dead, but used to do 635 for doubles on low bar squat.
Add paused off the ground pulls. and rack pulls into your program. I was forever stuck at 625-650 until i added those. Thats how i got to 675. and i will prob never squat more than 500 again. I dont feel the need to risk what im doing. I keep it in the low 400s squatting lol
Gave up deadlifting nearly a decade ago (besides RDLs). For me, it was the riskier lift; always jacking up my back.
ah. but truth be told people do have higher squat than dl. But breaking thru that barrier could just be a few adjustments. I was stuck in my ways. Finally added paused and rack pulls and the first time i ever tried 675 i ripped it. I couldnt even believe how easy it was. But i was dedicated to it.
Sumo sir. I personally do narrow stance sumo. I also have a long torso and mechanically it feels more natural
Somehow I've been on Andro Gel for 3 months and my testosterone went down. Now sitting sub 200. WTF? At the check up the doc was talking about doing a shot every two weeks, which doesn't seem right and doesn't match up with any literature online. I honestly don't think she knows the detailed treatment, so I sent her a bunch of articles from Mayo Clinic and a few other "reputable" places. Most TRT Clinics seem to blast you on 200mg a week and then some AI/estrogen blocker. But then it is $250 every other month. Just give me 100mg a week and lets get this shit going. I don't really want to go that route, I'd much rather have my insurance actually cover this shit.
