I'm normally very pro-sequels when things are good and wanting to see more of a good thing. Maverick was so perfect in almost every way that I just can't imagine the point of doing another one where it improves or advances the story in a way that makes it worthwhile.
I agree that Maverick was good but I'm also pretty done with that franchise and the story is kind of done. I guess we'll see.

I really do agree here, but at the same time, I scarily trust cruise to not fuck it up. Everyone said Mavrick was a terrible idea. Look what happened. Same thing with Mission Impossible and those keep getting better.
