Clutch Bootlegs from RollinRecs.com Both sound fantastic! I believe he is restocking Pablo this Friday.
I ordered two albums from Discogs, coming from different sellers but both in MA. One, a label was created on the 15th, he says he dropped it off at the post office the 16th. The other a label was created on the 22nd, with the USPS confirming receipt on the 23rd. The first album still has no update on the USPS tracking, just that a label was created. Seller says his PO often doesn't scan the packages in. Even so, it SHOULD have an update somewhere, like when it arrived into Columbus or reached the final delivery PO. If I don't see an update this afternoon, I'm contacting PayPal to get my money back.
First issue I've had with Discogs. Hopefully PayPal will refund it. I've given him plenty of time and the benefit of the doubt. If the PO lost it, that's on him to file a claim. I paid for a good and never received it, nor is there any proof he actually dropped it off. Zero tracking updates.
Any MMJ Fans? These are sweet https://shop.atorecords.com/product...oves-golden-smoke-edition?cp=126_68335_109680
hmmm, literally just filed a claim with PayPal to get my money back for my Evil Urges that never showed up. Ended up being $40+. Might as well throw that into this new release.
Newbury also its own pressing https://www.newburycomics.com/produ...il_urges_exclusive_2lp?variant=39670968156340
For the diggers... https://www.discogs.com/Rosie-Vela-Zazu/release/2385040 took a chance on this record in the dollar bin because it had Fagen and Becker all over it. (Also later realized it was produced by longtime SD producer Gary Katz) I swear to god it's the worst single lp I've ever heard in my life
So, the MMJ - Evil Urges album I purchased on discogs on April 15 JUST showed up. I already got a refund from PayPal, which I assume took money away from the seller. I plan on doing the right thing and sending this back to him, especially since I pre-ordered the re-release due out next month.
Good Karma. USPS is having major issues with medium side packages. Any records I order that ends up shipping USPS ends up being about a week later then scheduled. Yours had to almost be a month, right?
Literally a month and a half after ship date. Had another record ship from the same state that took 5 days, lol. MA to OH.
Some acquisitions over the last few weeks — MERZBOW/PRURIENT ‘Black Crows Cyborg’ (L) V/A ‘19 Beläten — En Sommar Av Plåga’ (R) GOD IS WAR/CRAWL OF TIME split ‘A Time for War’ X-77 ‘Nightmare’ PRIMITIVE KNOT ‘A New Ontology of Evil’ V/A ‘Death Unmasked VHS’ JOEL VANDROOGENBROEK ‘Biomechanoid’
Sturgill? I need to order volume 2 now. I'm just missing that one and high top mountain from his stuff.
If you store records in a basement, do yourself a favor and keep them off the bottom shelf and above the floor. I just lost nearly 25% of my collection to flooding of sewage in my basement. Over 250 records.
Hello all, my 16 year old nephew got a setup for his birthday. I am looking to get him some records and wanted to see if there was a suggested place to look for records? I checked my local subreddit as well and it seems like there’s a couple places local recommended as well as thrift stores but wondered about online. I went to Half Price Books and was able to find him RATM - Renegades.
Also, curious about bootlegs and if that’s something that should be avoided. I saw that Frank Ocean only sold Blond for 1 day so it’s nearly impossible to come by and bootlegs are like $50-$100
Direct from owner/store has been hit and miss via Discogs. Local shops are almost always your best bet. Get to know your local owners and see if they can find specific things they may not typically get.
I've found some gems at antique malls and flea markets. You have to look to make sure they're playable, but you can find some good values on some great records. I've only really been at it for a couple years, and mostly the last year, really, but have found a ton out there.
I found out on Monday that WWE superstar Sheamus has just recently gotten into vinyl collecting (my old neighbor is friends with him and we all went to the MNF game together). Wound up talking to him a good bit about places to go locally and also using discogs for those rare ones. Pretty cool guy too.
I think my needle got messed up. Records seem to skip and get stuck in place. I took the needle off, not really knowing what I was doing. It seemed to be a little bent, was also probably a little dirty/worn down, even though it's only 1-2 years old. Ordered a replacement. Ortofon: Stylus 5E
My player will have been stored in its' box for probably 6 months at least before I have it set up again, maybe closer to a year. I think I should probably make sure i replace the needle and anything else like that before i start using it again.
Well shit, needle came today and it still seems to get stuck in place. Maybe a tonearm issue? The damn Roomba is always hitting the stand I have the record player on; could that cause an issue?
Make sure the table is level, check entire setup...alignment, vtf, vta, etc. https://www.gcaudio.com/tips-tricks/turntable-system-set-up/
It seems to get stuck when it gets toward the end of the record/toward the center. I bought a scale to try to fix the tone arm weight.
Finally uploaded my whole collection to Discogs. Not to sell of course, just to have a nice, easily accessed list.
Finally got settled in my new place post divorce and got my stuff set up again. Feels good to listen to all of them again.
