I do think in general a lot of the founding fathers were afraid of an uneducated majority making decisions, I think they would be pretty disgusted by an uneducated minority abusing their system because of the way the amount of senators worked out as well as a zero sum game being played by the republicans
I don't think they ever could have imagined the Republicans bending the knee to Trump the way they have
Some scattershot thoughts here that I've had on bipartisan government. By human nature, aren't 2 people running against each other, without definitive parties, probably going to oppose each other one certain parties? Sometimes, I wonder what the point of separate parties was. BUT... Then I think parties were meant to be larger than the single person running for POTUS. This undoubtedly divided the government but it's funny that not only have the parties transformed in their policies, but now we have a single person who wants to be larger than the party. Most Trump supporters follow him blindly, regardless of policy, and plenty - other than their faith - would likely fall in line with D policies.
I don't think they really saw it as a two party system, I think they would be surprised by the longevity of the Dems and Pubs at this point, probably because they could never have imagined the marketing power and market share of these two parties based on what things were like in their time
EVERY FUCKING TIME, assuming you mean Trump is the one singing and John Adams is any other human being
I donated for the Star Trek one that starts in like 40 minutes. May have to do this as well. Was never a Star Trek guy but I love George Takei and Patrick Stewart
Anyone else donate for this? Starts in 6 minutes. Says Q&A with original cast and special performance
I don’t think anyone is. I believe that this thread has a huge hard on for her. I just happen to prefer Diggs style better in this show.
I agree. Hamilton was scared of the “people rioting” like the French once they figured out the majority didn’t really have a say which is why he supported and demanded a national militia and the state militaries were minimized (until Trump recommissioned them for racism and other Trump things).
I can’t believe how much people sleep on Phillipa Soo. The emotional journey you go on with Eliza just rips your heart out and she makes you feel it. I can’t listen to half of her songs in public
Of the OG cast, Soo and Goldsberry are superior vocal talents to any of the men, and to me it’s not really that close
Burn is my favorite "ballad" in the show. "I'm erasing myself from the narrative...I hope you burn" just crushes.
Soo is the least impressive singer in the original cast imo. This doesn’t mean she is bad or anything, I just don’t think she compares strongly to the rest.
When Broadway shows start again, I am going to take my wife to NYC for Hamilton live before we fly to Europe. Going to be excited when that happens in 2024!
That reminded me that the show here in Jax was canceled. They gave us an option to get a refund or keep the tickets for the rescheduled show. Looking back, I should have just taken a refund. May call and see if I can get just a refund at this point bc who knows if it every gets rescheduled.
"Soo is the least impressive singer in the cast" Someone forgot about the dope ass beat she drops during Take A Break.
