Someone forgot LMM sings as much or more than anyone else.
Based on singing in Hamilton. Not taking any questions please respect.
4. Jasmine Jones
7. Each individual in the ensemble
My wife would murder you if she saw you put anyone but Goldsberry above Jackson.
In honor of Owsley - I'd probably have to group them, honestly.
it's alright you want to fight. you got a hunger. I was like you when I was younger.
The first version of Burn hits even harder.
never heard that before, thanks
Odom and Diggs too low.
LMM too high.
Non-Stop is really underrated. The last minute of that song is fucking incredible and its even better on stage.
Felt like listening to this again. I wish they kept the “I see how you look at my sister” line in the final version.
Who is underrating Non-stop? It’s one of the show’s most popular numbers.
that and the "we are your legacy" lines hit hard
The whole “whisper” section is really good narrative about Alex.
1) Goldsberry in “Satisfied”
2) Odom in “Wait for it”
3) Soo in “Burn”
Willing to listen to arguments.
This is probably the most mainstream argument there is.
Are there any good recordings of “It’s Quiet Uptown” without LMM? Goldsberry and Soo crush it but LMM is so cringy.
People that don’t like LMM can suck it
LMM the composer is GOAT tier: Almost always have to fire up Moana after Hamilton to keep those vibes going.
LMM the performer is Community College tier. Facts are facts.
All great options. Christopher Jackson in One Last Time always gets me too.
Lin’s second greatest contribution to the the show, after being its creator, is actually the delivery of the not-so-much-rap/singing-more-spoken-word portions of Yhe World Was Wide Enough and One Last Time.
His delivery of part of Washington’s speech and the monologue after the final bullet is fired are both really well done.
This one is equal to Burn for me while Satisfied and Wait For It are tied at 1.
Everyone give it up for America’s favorite fighting Frenchman!
Putting the album on repeat all day in the office.
Raise a glass
I am doing the same
So this was posted last night and all I'll say is I want to hear Leslie sing the entire song in this tone/note. It's more singing than acting...slightly different and I'd love to hear the whole thing this way.
That's a good idea. I'm watching tv and flipping channels to try and catch as many political ads as I can to make my mind up on who to vote for. Pro tip: only really listen to the ads that are approved by a politician.
Just heard Usher's version from the Mixtape for the first time today. It's definitely not as good but I like the pacing on it for something different.
The most fair and balanced ads are not endorsed by candidates, but committees for American freedom and values
Started this an hour ago. Gonna carry me until 8:40 to distract myself so I don’t pay attention to things too early
GUESS WHAT DONNIE???
YOU DONT HAVE THE VOTES
YOU DONT HAVE THE VOTES
Inject this into every vein in my body
I saw a mention of Moana on the last page to keep the LMM vibes going. Has anyone else listened to "In The Heights"? Jackson is also in that musical, and I think it's a pretty underrated show.
We won! We won! We won! We won!
The world turned upsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide down rigghtsiiiiiiiiiiiiiide up!
I got on a Daveed Diggs kick one day on Amazon Music and found Seven Nights in Chicago.
Joe did not throw away his shot.
I like Diggs more as LaFayette than Jefferson.
Maybe because LaFayette>>>>Jefferson in history, but gat damn at him spitting in that French accent.
i think this isn't hot at all. completely agree.
He just shines in every scene he’s in and is in a lot more scenes in the 2nd half. But gat dam he fucks as LaFayette.
Gat Damn. Cabinet Meeting 1. What was I ever thinking 20 minutes ago...
lol. Pretty sure “posters” in this here thread don’t have Soo in their top 5. Legit question. Is it possible to go from Burn->Blow Us All Away->It’s Quiet Uptown without your room becoming extremely dusty?
i cry almost every song she sings. I’ll defend to the death that her character arc and performance is the best of the entire cast
My 8 year old was talking to his african American friend about the election and said Barack Obama or Abraham Lincoln should be the president. His friend said or George Washington to which my son replied “he had at least 10 slaves, you shouldn’t get to be president if you owned slaves.” From the mouths of babes
We just had this talk the other day. My 6 year old was loving Greek mythology a few months back. We got a couple books and we’re going through them and they talked about slavery so I got to have the fun conversation of explaining slavery to someone for the first time. All the zoom lessons with his teacher this week have been about voting/politics. Thursday they talked about voting rights/suffrage/Jim Crow/Slavery/etc. He was pretty devastated to learn that America had slaves. For Halloween this year he debated between Miles Morales and George Washington because they’re his favorite heroes. I didn’t have the heart to tell him.
And so the balance shifts
We rendezvous with Rochambeau
Consolidate their gifts
We can end this war at Yorktown, cut them off at sea, but
For this to succeed, there is someone else we need
I know (Hamilton!)
Sir, he knows what to do in the trench
Ingenuitive and fluent in French
I mean (Hamilton!)
Sir, you're going to have to use him eventually
What's he going to do on the bench
I mean (Hamilton!)
No one has more resilience
Or matches my practical, tactical brilliance (Hamilton!)
You want to fight for your land back? (Hamilton!)
I need my right hand man back (Hamilton!)
Fuck the cabinet meetings. LaFayette equals goat.
The battle of Yorktown, 1781
In command where you belong
How you say, no sweat
Finally on the field, we've had quite a run
Immigrants, we get the job done
