For whatever it's worth, I can see how this tradition would be obnoxious to opponents, despite the fact it happened for 30 years without issue until yesterday. It's college sports. Traditions like this are what makes these sports great and about all that's left to differentiate from soulless pro sports. There is a little give and take with these things, of course. Sometimes it's your turn to celebrate, sometimes you have to hold your nose and sit through it. But, it's generally accepted that you step aside and let the other team have their moment. The only issue comes when somebody decides to be an asshole and will only take but not give - e.g., whenever you play Michigan. Michigan did this intentionally to start shit at the end of a blowout they were on the losing end of. You ruin somebody's senior day by beating them and making it awkward, not by being an asshole after you lose. This was the most little brother shit possible.
If you guys just keep saying it, I’m sure it will be true that the two freshmen guards were out to get MSU’s storied tradition (that virtually no one in this thread knew about until yesterday) with their nefarious midcourt standing. And Dusty May was totally in on it. Jalen Rose and Steve Fischer probably put them up to it. Total little brother shit. You tell em.
Big vibes of a parent telling their kids to stop touching each other so one sibling puts their fingers 2 centimeters from the other one’s face and says, “what - I’m not touching you!”
They got asked to move after Fidler had to kiss the side of the logo and then acted like dipshits attempting to ruin senior night. This isn't some massive conspiracy. It's the same shit year after year...Michigan wins and there is no limit amount to amount of shit talking and flag planting. If you lose? Then the other team were being meanies to us and we're just widdle Michigan who didn't know any better.
I actually don’t mind the move if they owned up to it. I had/have terrible sportsmanship and probably would have considered doing the same thing if I were in that situation the playing dumb is fucking stupid tho
Did it ever occur to you that they were trolling by standing on midcourt and are continuing to troll by playing dumb and you're letting them?
I lean this way. You can both like the traditions aspect of college sports and also like the rivalry aspect of some petty bullshit like this also at the same time.
I think it was definitely intentional and petty shit from Michigan, they were trying to fuck with them. It’s also reality that they technically aren’t doing anything wrong and your tradition is easily blown up by the opponent just standing on the court during the game. I doubt anyone other than Michigan would care to try to ruin the moment, though. Because that’s lame.
I could be wrong but aren’t they saying it has happened for 30 years and this is the first time someone has been as ass? I think most traditions can “easily be ruined” by an opposing team.
Yeah I was about to post about that block and then that reach was clean at the end...crazy good Opposite of their composure at the line at the end
was going to ignore the initial insult, as to not throw this thread off the rails with politics talk. But I do not support Trump and his policies, and am not part of a cult.
And trolling aside, that was an impressive win by Michigan against a good Maryland team. Now they get likely win against Wisconsin playing 4th game in 4 days, instead of their 3rd blow out loss to their rival in past 30 days.
What do you mean you another baseless cult like claim when in fact the only tag was visa professing his love for best party poster Lip
