Sorry, just saw this. I have a bunch of points so willing to do something nice close to the stadium since it’s only one night.
No idea if the rally hotel is nice or not. I’ve stayed at ramble. Big fan. Oxford is great, as is the cruise room bar inside of it.
Try to keep it on the down low. One of the coolest places in the entire city. Pair that with the renovated union station, and you have a nice little night out with visiting family or friends.
If anybody wants 4 day Phish tickets I’ll sell for face. Going to get a couple individual nights instead
Im there for a work trip. I have some time Tuesday to check out the downtown area and then the evenings Wed/Thurs. I’d just like to check out some things Denver specific.
I've always wanted to quickly check out the museum of western art but have never done it myself. for exploring downtown, I'd walk to and around Union, and then up the stairs and over to confluence park. If you don't mind hoofing it around, maybe just walk up to lihi. should be awesome in the mid-evening. I can suggest a place to eat / drink / watch sports if you need.
Luchador Recommend it, especially for happy hour, in Whittier. Just opened. Some chopped winner opened it.
Isn’t that the place where the owner came out and said their shit was gonna be expensive and to either buy it or not?
The pizzas are absolutely gargantuan at 20”, similar to Cosmo’s. This article has a breakdown and the price really isn’t that bad https://www.westword.com/restaurants/little-arthurs-opens-most-expensive-pizza-denver-21664912
I have a commuter that I’ve ridden to work probably 50 times this year. I’m sure one day I’ll get into road cycling
Best restaurant in town? Frasca Fancy steakhouse? Steakhouse 316 Rooftop with views? Corrida or Avanti Cocktails? Jungle or Bramble and Hare. The bar under the Boulderado is cool but don’t like the drinks as much Other places I would recommend on Pearl depending on what you’re looking for: Cozi Fonda Fina, Gemini, High Country, Izakaya Amu, Barchetta (best pizza in town), Oak at 14th, Jax (best seafood), Maine Shack (good lobsters rolls, good happy hour) The Rio is fun with a group.
I like everything, going solo and there for three nights but I’ll likely be fairly wiped out after climbing/hiking so perhaps nothing on the truly fancy side.
Im not helpful with Boulder. did check out the eater 38 and it has changed quite a bit since I looked it up earlier this year. Bunch of good new restaurants. I need to set date nights for Alma Fonda fina brasserie brixton sap su molotov Kawa ni Major Tom Lucina plus plimoth, potager, benzina, and Tavernetta as blind spots.
I got an email to sign up for the Founder Club for free for Casa Bonita but of course the register button does nothing.
Offer extended and accepted on a house in Englewood. My little cousin’s family is expanding and they are going to buy our house when theirs sells. We have 15 days for them to get under contract. Fingers crossed and good vibes appreciated.
Welp, back to the drawing board. We are terminating our contract based on the inspection. Structural damage was the biggest issue but there were more “big” issues that came to light. We were mostly in love with the location, so dealing with all that didn’t make us feel great. Oh well. We will find something better (hopefully).
It is pretty good for what it is. Not sure how "good" you think it is but it is much better than the major chains like Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's, etc
I don't think it is, or my tastes changed. Seems like the chain effect is kicking in now that they have more sites. Green chili less spicy.
I mean I really like Chipotle and thought it was substantially better and that made me happy. Moe's is straight trash. I haven't had Qdoba.
I moved to Denver when Chipotle just had the one location on Evans at DU. It was so good then, before the franchise effect kicked in. Ate there all the time since I lived in Bonnie Brae. Ate at Qdoba #1 on Logan a lot too when I worked at the Anthem building just off Speer. Crazy how big those chains got.
Quiznos was my first job ever. I used to stack those motherfuckers so high they barely made it through the oven
