Watching The Game with Michael Douglas for the first time, don't really have an excuse why it's taken me so long. What a perfect 90s flick. Fucking 8-9/10
Getting great reviews. Online discourse about the age gap is mind numbing https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/licorice_pizza
I have been treadmilling a lot lately so I’m catching up on movies I should have seen already. The Irishman - long as fuck but enjoyable. The anti-aging made Deniro, Pacino, and Pesci have dead person eyes. Was still pretty uncanny valleyish. Charlie Wilson’s War - awesome. Huge fan. Should have watched it a long time ago. Apocalypse Now - read Heart of Darkness in hs. This is great. Great movie. There Will be Blood- what a slog. I’m still only halfway through because it’s boring as fuck so far. Docs 14 Peaks - awesome climbing doc everyone should watch The Alpinist - batshit fucking crazy Jfc
Thought The Last Duel was terrific. Also, for throwback purposes, Behind Enemy Lines is free on YouTube, so let's see how that one holds up. Edit: Playback not working, but the link should
If you liked Apocalypse Now, highly recommend watching - Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse. It's a behind the scenes doc they made about the filming/production of Apocalypse Now. Awesome watch
I’d like to see a thread about best movies/fictional books about Vietnam. There’s been so many, it’d be a hell of a list
West Side story was really good. Although I had not seen the original and I was pretty surprised that the story played out as it did. Spielberg put on a Masterclass though
Meatball has to write a biography for school. He chose Arnold Schwarzenegger from the list because The Terminator is a playable character on the latest version of Mortal Kombat (which he plays all the time). He asked to watch some of his movies, especially Terminator. We let him watch Terminator 1 & 2, and Predator so far and last night he got to experience Total Recall. His reaction to the 3 breasted alien hooker did not disappoint
I made a list of movies I needed to watch last night, and it's pretty depressing how few new flicks I've seen lately. Starting Another Round at some point today, I guess I'm ready to be depressed. The Electrical Life of Louis Wain Oxygen (French) Encounter Nine Days Mass The Violet The Lost Leonardo (Documentary) Last Night in SoHo Spencer Licorice Pizza National Champions Reminiscence Don’t Look Up Enormous: The Gorge Story (Documentary on the Gorge) C’mon C’mon The Innocents (French) Riders of Justice (Danish) The Night House (Horror) Zone 414 Passing
Watched The Last Duel last night on HBO and really enjoyed it. Interesting concept and I thought it was really well done. I wouldn’t go see it in theaters, but definitely worth the watch
