Nah. I remember how ecstatic I was when I first learned that I could have bourbon on keto. Besides, it could be worse. The happiest I’ve been in the past few months was a couple of weeks ago when I vacuumed my place with my new Dyson ball vacuum cleaner.
I’ve had a sore throat and extreme fatigue for the last week or so and am wondering if I was low on electrolytes so I’ve been drinking salty water all day so I guess you could say things are looking up
The way I typically make wings is keto compliant for sure. Just thaw out wings and pat them dry, put them in a bag or container with a little baking powder to coat. Put them on a pan in fridge overnight. Bake in oven 450 for like 20-30 mins. Toss in butter/cayenne/buffalo sauce at end. https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/02/the-best-buffalo-wings-oven-fried-wings-recipe.html
Probably won’t make Keto chili again till next winter. Stuff was really good. Looking at all the ingredients though I think there were more carbs then what the recipe let on. Biggest problem, ended up eating 2.5 bowls. Need a high fat side next time, it was almost all protein and fiber. Maybe i’ll add a pack of bacon to the recipe.
Cook on stove with olive oil and butter mixture, use s&p and garlic powder. When it’s done, shave some cheese over it. It works with nearly every vegetable. I recommend asparagus/green beans/brussels
Or cook to a good internal temp 165. Yes. Edit: And I left out the flip after the initial time, put back in for 20. My b dawg.
and don’t forget sour cream with the avocado. I usually start mine by browning 2-3 lbs of 80/20 beef, remove beef and that leaves all the fat. Sauté the onion and peppers for 30 min, add all spices for a 5-10 minutes, reduce with beer that all cooks out anyhow, add my tomato and cook all day. My guess based on a bit of research is that one big bowl is about 7 or 8 net carbs. That assumes a decent sized avocado, cheese and some sour cream. It’s enough to stuff me.
Oh my god. Just made a pretty basic protein shake with 1 scoop of cinnamon crunch quest powder, 1.5 tablespoons of heavy cream, 1 tbsp almond butter, and ice/water. Incredibly good, like a horchata milkshake.
My wife is 6 months pregnant and her only real craving is.....pizza. She has had pizza multiple times a week for multiple weeks; I even have picked some up on the way home from work. Haven’t given in yet, but the struggle is real.
No not really. Need lots of fat too. The amount of carbs is dependent on whether you’re counting total or net carbs and your activity level and other metabolic factors
What the hipster said. You also have to count calories and maintain a certain moderate level of protein. The only thing that doesn't vary from person to person for the most part is the carb count. This is the calculator I use, although there are other good ones out there: https://www.ruled.me/keto-calculator/
He gave a smart ass replay to my general question. I responded in kind. Go ahead and hit that ignore button since it bothers you.
Someone in here recommended it but I use the app Keto Diet. Keeps track of macros and you can personalize your goals after some simple demographics. It’s 2.99 per month to use, but I find it a lot easier to use than MFP. Here’s a typical day (I don’t track cals on Sunday really, just eat approved foods) and you can toggle what you want your percentages to be. Just scan labels or quick add. It’s really helpful.
I use Cronometer. Works for me, it’s $, don’t remember how much. There are so many flavors though, you could research for days. Main thing you want is macro breakdown. That exists with all of them just a matter of ease IMO. In terms of recipes it’s the same. Have to know what you like, how it works for your macros and then you’ll figure out best places for you. Just a few pages back some faux recipes were exposed. Lots of bullshit out there.
I don't keep track of my macros other than to make sure I'm right around 20 carbs/day or less and eating as little sugar as possible. I've been in full ketosis for a couple weeks so it works for me without having to keep track of everything.
I did get drunk last night on vodka/club soda but also had a couple Fireball shots throughout the night which isn't great from a sugar standpoint. Interested to see what that did to my ketosis levels. Will be checking in 10 minutes.
