Incredibly fortunate no one died in the initial violence. Also those people in the first video are way too calm.
They seemingly have absolutely no idea in which direction the guy even headed afterwards so far I assumed there would be wall to wall cameras everywhere there
I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often, tbqh. ~underfunded and largely ineffective public mental health services in this country (and a prison industrial complex that destroys human beings while they're incarcerated) ~3/4 of the posts on social media are conspiracy theories, calls to violence, or other forms of mental poison ~wide and unprecedented availability of firearms.

4 major shootings in the U.S. over Easter weekend A shooting at a party in Pittsburgh left two 17-year-olds and several others injured. In Portland, Oregon, a shooting left one person dead and three minors injured. Spoiler April 18, 2022, 4:10 AM CDT / Updated April 18, 2022, 9:55 AM CDT By Chantal Da Silva At least four major shootings broke out across the United States over the Easter weekend, including one at a party in Pittsburgh that left two teenagers dead and several others injured early Sunday. The violence comes after President Joe Biden announced tougher gun regulations last week in the wake of multiple mass shootings. Pittsburgh police said in a statement Sunday that officers were called to the reports of a shooting just after 12:30 a.m. at an Airbnb rental property. When they arrived, additional shots were heard in the immediate area and "several young people" were seen fleeing the area on foot and in vehicles. Mass shooting at Pittsburgh party leaves two dead APRIL 17, 202201:29 Police said that at least 10 people were injured in the incident. Two of them, Jaiden Brown and Mathew Steffy-Ross, both 17, were pronounced dead at a hospital, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to NBC News. Other gunshot victims were taken to hospitals by first responders or arrived at hospitals in and outside the city on their own. Police said that as many as 200 people, many underage, were at a party in a short-term rental property when as many as 50 rounds went off. The shots were believed to have been fired from inside the property, prompting some partygoers to jump out of windows, sustaining injuries including broken bones and lacerations. Police have asked for anyone with information on the shooting to come forward. 1 dead, 3 minors injured in Portland shooting A shooting in Portland, Oregon, on Sunday, left one person dead and three minors injured, according to the Portland Police Bureau. The bureau said in a statement that police had been called to reports of a shooting just after 8:40 p.m. local time (11:40 p.m. ET) Sunday night. When they arrived, they found one man dead and three boys with gunshot wounds. The three boys were transported to area hospitals, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries, police said. His status was not clear as of early Monday morning. Violence in South Carolina In South Carolina, gunfire broke out at a nightclub in Hampton County on Sunday, a day after gunfire erupted at a mall in the state's capital, Columbia, around 90 miles north. At least nine people were injured in the shooting at Cara's Lounge in Hampton County, South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division told The Associated Press. It came after at least nine people sustained gunshot wounds in the shooting at the Columbiana Centre in the capital Saturday, with victims' ages ranging from 15 to 73, according to the Columbia Police Department. At least five others sustained separate injuries, including broken bones, lacerations and a head injury while trying to flee the mall, police said. None of the victims appeared to have been critically injured. The lawyer for a man who was arrested following the shooting said Sunday that his client had opened fire in self-defense in a confrontation with other shooters. The man, identified as Jewayne Price, 22, has since been released under house arrest and has been ordered to wear an ankle monitor after a judge set a $25,000 surety bond. Man arrested after South Carolina mall shooting fired in self-defense, his lawyer says APRIL 18, 202201:40 Police had arrested Price on suspicion of unlawful possession of a pistol after initially taking him in for questioning, the Columbia Police Department said. While police have not formally identified him as a shooter in the incident, on Sunday, Price was barred by Bond Court at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center from contacting victims of the attack. Two other men who were also detained for questioning were released from police custody Saturday after it was determined that they were not involved in the shooting, police said. However, they said witness accounts and surveillance video suggested that at least three suspects had displayed firearms inside the mall. They said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident involving the suspects and had "likely stemmed from an ongoing conflict." Police are still working to determine exactly how many suspects were involved.
Accused Columbia mall shooter was defending himself after Facebook threats, lawyer says Spoiler COLUMBIA — A 22-year-old man charged in connection with a shooting spree that injured 14 people at a Columbia mall was attacked by people who had been threatening him on Facebook, his lawyer said during a court hearing April 17. Two other people came up to Jewayne M. Price near the Gap store in Columbiana Centre around 2 p.m. April 16 and started shooting, attorney Todd Rutherford said. Price had a pistol and returned fire. He does not have a concealed-weapons permit. View attachment 155670 Jewayne M. Price Provided “He simply defended himself,” Rutherford said in court. “He did not do anything to bring about the trouble yesterday.” Rutherford declined to describe the threats Price received online. Price called his family who contacted police on his behalf and he turned himself in, Rutherford said. His arrest in the mall parking lot was caught on video by several bystanders. Price was charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol. “People want to make it seem like he’s an animal, but he’s a good kid,” Price’s mother, Twana Ivery, told reporters after the hearing. Price received a $25,000 bond from Judge Crystal Rookard at a hearing in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. He also must wear an ankle monitor and must be home by 9 p.m. once he posts bond. Price remained in the Lexington County Detention Center late April 17. Rutherford said his client has no prior convictions and had a previous charge dismissed. Price was charged with accessory before the fact in connection with the shooting death of a Richland County teen in 2018, according to multiple media reports. Online court files show no records of the arrest. The shootout at Columbiana Centre came as a shock on Easter weekend when many people shop for the holiday weekend. The popular mall 10 miles northwest of downtown Columbia was crowded when gunfire rang out not far from the food court, sending shoppers fleeing for safety. Nine people were wounded by gunshots, while another five people were injured trying to run out of the mall. All but one of the victims have already been released from the hospital, authorities have said. The injured ranged in age from 15 to 73. Rutherford called the fact that Price survived along with the bystanders who were shot, “God’s will” and offered prayers to those injured and their families. Columbia Police said they are looking for two other suspects in the mass shooting. At least two guns were fired in the shootout that forced police to evacuate the large mall. Police blocked roads in the heavily traveled Harbison shopping and entertainment district for hours while officers searched more than 100 stores in the mall for suspects as well as stranded shoppers and employees. Columbiana Centre was closed April 17 and will reopen April 18.
If we’re not gonna restrict the availability of handguns. Then at least make the penalty for “unlawful carrying of a pistol” more severe than it currently is in most states.
Probably because people who aren't trained in using weapons shouldn't be carrying them around. I mean shit this is common sense, but the country as gone insane.
Yea two shooters managing to not hit their target but 9 other people getting shot is pretty incredible.
A grown ass man brought a gun to a haunted house, got so scared in said haunted house that he fell on his ass and his gun went skidding across the floor and a relative, also scared for his life in a haunted house, shot the guy wearing makeup and a costume but yeah I’m sure they’d be able to take down the big bad active shooter during a crime.
People have to worry about getting shot because they’re in costumes and if they scare someone with a gun then I guess it’s their fault for scaring them. Americans are easily the biggest pussies on Earth
I knew they already had to worry about people swinging at them etc. But in the tinderbox environment of 2022 US, a lot worse can happen than some kid kicking you in the nuts
Some stunt guys used to work in haunted houses, (since a decent amount of Atlanta stunt people got their start on The Walking Dead). People get violent in those all of the time. Most stunt people do a lot of fight training, though, so it doesn’t usually work out well for the people who freak out and attack. “Holy shit! That zombie just laid that dude out with a crescent kick!”
