Sylvan seems like a Druidic throwback name
I’m naming my next kid Siodhachan
Awful town and even worse name for a child. 2:1 odds the kid ends up doing meth at some point.
Jeff is a weird name?
it's typically spelled jeffrey, not jeffery
Check the spelling
Still not that weird
It’s commonly spelled Jeffery, too.
It's not one the dumb spelling names, it's kinda common
Thread is now parents naming names
or Ree en
My wife just mentioned Evelyn as a possibility for the girl we have on the way. I kinda like it and immediately thought of this thread's Evelyn tangent.
exactly how it looks
I have just learned that Liam is short for William and I am not happy about it. What the fuck
Then who is Bill?
A normal William. Whereas Liam is the Xander of Williams.
I think that’s more of a British thing. I don’t think I’ve ever met a Liam. My mom wanted to have me go by that but my dad quickly shut that down
Bill Stickers is innocent!
I know a Liam but that's his actual name, not short for William
I know a Lee M.
This made me think of this-
Is it weird when parents name their kids shortened versions of names? Like Mike instead of Michael, Alex instead of Alexander, etc.
Do you mean name them that rather than just calling them that? If so, yes. A grown man with “Bobby” or “Billy” on his driver’s license probably has it on his work shirt, too.
Lol yes. Like on their birth certificate
Have a friend whose name is Drew and his brother’s name is Matt. Not short for anything. Just Drew and Matt.
There’s something very 1920’s about people doing this, definitely better than some of these modern make em up names though
Def weird imo
This sounds like my moms side of the family. Pam, her twin brother, Pat. Older brothers: Dick, Bob, and Bill.
I knew a guy a few years older than me in HS legally first named Billy. Middle name Gene.
The kid is not my son
Local weather person named Brhe
short for Brheanna, naturally
How does one even pronounce that?
Bree? But dumber?
Brhe is obviously code for Bree is a he.
I saw a Saylor on Facebook this week
Just like you said, Bree?
Was her last name Moon?
Just saw somebody on IG naming their kid Ayvah
There have been a metric fuckton of Liams born over the last 10 years. Last year I could find is 2018 but it was the most common U.S. baby boy name that year. Liam is the new Aiden.
How many times has he been arrested
We are having our 4th later this year and this thread is giving me anxiety now.
Braedyn it is!
