Well, fine sir, those "others" are idiots. He's basically a more sports focused and celebrated Barstool personality. He's fucking awful.
The best outcome is these false rumors and PM and ESPN getting sued into the ether for throwing this out there. 99 percent sure his sources are those NFL rumor Twitter accounts.
ESPN has to know that having Mad Dog stick his face up to the camera scream at the top of his lungs for 10 minutes is terrible content. So the only conclusion I can come up with is that they’re hoping enough people are watching simply hoping for his heart to explode on television.
It’s pretty pathetic how ESPN doesn’t realize that pretty much all of their most beloved personalities had a quiet coolness about them. SVP, Stu Scott, Kenny Mayne, Rich Eisen, Linda Cohn, Rece Davis etc. didn’t behave like loud and obnoxious Morning Zoo DJs. They must not have been aware that the guy they thought was the star of the network, Chris Berman was loathed by a shit ton of viewers. Basically the only people I’m aware of outside of the people that do actual sports commentary while the game is happening that are still there are loud and annoying.
stupid shit you see on espn social media* not sure if people saw this but they took an old interview from 2020, edited the jersey and the mic (tnt ---> espn), and posted an "interview with dame" like it was yesterday
seems like an obvious move to put ppl like Lowe, Mina, Barnwell, Foxworth, Clark, etc. on TV through their pods. but also seems like a real cost-cutting measure too. Have felt that watching The Athletic Football Show stream / youtube was more compelling football analysis than I ever got via cable sports programming.
well, they'll be both. pretty sure the Mina pod has always been recorded so they can put out clips onto twitter / instagram. I'm sure they'll just put that recording on TV with some added flair. audio pods will remain the same.
I guess he isn't included, although if successful I am sure it could expand. I was just firing from the hip The lineup of podcasts will include The Lowe Post by ESPN NBA expert Zach Lowe, The Hoop Collective run by NBA insider Brian Windhorst, The Mina Kimes Show led by NFL expert Mina Kimes, First Draft run by draft experts Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates and The Elle Duncan Show featuring ESPN anchors Elle Duncan and Gary Striewski.
I do like this tweet because at first glance it looks like a giant NO in the picture. Like he was asking and answering the question all in one place
wish he would have handled that one the way he did the Howie Mandell intro instead of taking it so well.
Maybe I just haven't watched sportscenter in awhile, but that doesn't like the image image I have in my mind of him.
