No surprise Bright Eyes cancelled album release shows after this past weekend. The alcoholism is going to kill Conor sooner than later without intervention.
well, to brighten the mood, here's some kid doing a cover of Chop Suey on a speed bag and it's glorious
this is like the 18th tour in a row where cokehead conor gets too fucked up and makes a fool of himself
Looking forward to seeing them next week. I feel bad they’re playing to half filled arenas on this tour, but the positive is that upper deck tickets are going for like $3 right now
Diamond Jubilee from Cindy Lee is finally available to stream on SoundCloud. I know it was only available on YouTube since it was released so nice to see a better way to listen to it. https://on.soundcloud.com/vjmA6v2Fdu1p5kPN8
huge development. ads after every 3rd song was annoying af. praying for a vinyl release but not getting my hopes up there
I didn't think either the National or War on Drugs are popular enough to fill large arenas. Just seems like an odd choice of venue. Listening to the new live album now and this is great.
Yeah idk if they thought the national being affiliated with Taylor swift now would help move tickets, but it doesn’t make any sense to me either
They do, just not enough to fill up an arena. The national shows I’ve gone to at theaters have been filled, but those are 3-5k capacity on the larger end. The United Center’s capacity for concerts is like 23k. I don’t think they’re selling tickets behind the stage, so it’s probably around like 18k. They’re definitely not filling that
They are playing at the Hollywood Bowl on a Monday. Would have definitely gone if it was over the weekend.
As a follow up to this, it’s was probably 45% full but the floor and pit were pretty filled in. They closed the upper decks and moved people down which makes sense. All three bands sounded great for the most part. Didn’t love the national set list (only 1 boxer song….) and Matt was losing his voice, but he was still going all out. Went deep into the seats during graceless which is always funny This was my first time seeing Lucius and they’re incredible live. Need to see them play longer than 30 minutes
I think it’s coming. Their crowd at riot fest was really big, and they have an enough name recognition from opening for indie darlings the last 5 years or whatever. I remember seeing her open for sandy Alex g (or whatever the fuck he was calling himself at the time) in 2019
I remember some in here liking their album from a few years ago. Glad to see they still know how to create an ear worm
I think they recently toured with a big act on an arena tour, opening for maybe melanie martinez or something.
