Not bad live but I'm about sick of them being everyones opening act here live. Feed me new blood Portland.
This, I’d lean Crack the Skye for Mastodon. Ghost is a completely different band from those three. I’d say Impera for the album that blends their old and new sound the most, or just Opus Eponymous if you want their original sound before they became an arena rock band.
Might be able to snag a free ticket to Lamb of God and Mastadon next week. Also is it weird to not like Caligula's Horse, and then suddenly really like Caligula's Horse. Asking for a friend.
Sounds like Saint Vitus in Brooklyn is now permanently closed. A guy who went to shows regularly there was offended by their “woke” politics and sent non-stop messages to the city about their permits not being in order (which was true). They’ve been closed for months but was always hopeful that they would return. Sucks, venue was a legendary place.
Well, that was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Leviathan top to bottom, Ashes of the Wake top to bottom. Lamb of God got one of the biggest circle pits I've ever seen in L.A going. Fucking awesome.
Re-visiting Opeth discography the last few days, mid way through and I feel like I'm being punished for something.
i keep forgetting to update you guys on how the deathcore/prog/tech death scene is progressing. so here you go. thanks.
been a minute, but here's some fresh stuff i am listening to: Ripped to Shreds - Sanshi (death metal, Bay Area USA) Firtan - Ethos (black metal, Germany) Unto Others - Never, Neverland (heavy metal / gothic rock, Portland OR) Candy - It's Inside You (hardcore, Richmond VA (sorta))
I’ve done one of these at this Hard Rock location for My Morning Jacket. It’s a great time other than the airport going back. AND they don’t check your luggage like they do randomly in Mexico coming in.
Thinking of seeing Iron Maiden and the Hu on a whim. Somebody talk me into or out of it. I’m not a huge Maiden fan, but I do like some of their songs and appreciate them for their place in metal.
it’s a legendary band and they put on a killer show. One thing though, I’d check the set list, if I’m not mistaken this tour is in support of their newest album so you might not get a classic heavy set list.
Dudes in Pantera shirts continue to be the worst people ever. Moshing at an Iron Maiden show? Good lord. Great show. Very glad I went.
Apparently Opeth's new album starting showing up on people's doorsteps last night. Nothing on Spotify yet and my torrance site is down :|
Official release is next week. They probably preordered and just got it early. But won’t drop on Spotify for another week
The part at ~50 on s4 with the riff and the "ugggh" had me Wish there was more of that but that's just not really what he writes anymore
Best since Watershed. I still have a gap between that and this but I think it’ll only continue to grow on me as I relisten. I’m still not huge into the new prog rock stuff they’ve been doing the last decade but definitely like this more than anything they’ve done over that time frame.
Holy shit. When I heard the flutes, my first response was “hell yeah, Jethro Tull sound there,” and I just now started reading about the album and it’s actually Ian Anderson.
