Went down a Mulaney YouTube rabbit hole after watching one of his specials on Netflix and came across this for the first time. It's not stand up but Mulaney had it all going in this.
Oh Hello is great. They had that show on Broadway and there are a bunch of clips of their various guest segments on YouTube. Pretty sure the stage performance is on Netflix too. Both are worth a watch.
Saw Sheng Wang tonight. The new hour isn’t as memorable as Sweet and Juicy, but it’ll make for another great special.
I saw Tim Meadows this past weekend - the opener Magen King was also great. The openers we normally see at our small comedy shows aren't great, but she had the crowd going.
Anyone familiar with/like Casey Rocket from Kill Tony? I find him hilarious, and my wife got us tickets to go see him in December. Pretty pumped about that.
Watched last night and thought it was very good. People are already mad at him going after Rogan's listeners which will make it better.
saw him back in the spring and he doubled down and rifted on the Rogan stuff for a minute. Something about not taking his jokes about self harm or suicide seriously unless you think Rogan makes some good points. entire set was so damn good
I believe he's been quoted recently as saying that this special was done in April and if he could do it over again, he would take out the part about Rogan being his friend and a good guy.
Vulture did a profile on him earlier this month. “when I talked with Jeselnik for this profile, he told me if he were taping this special now he'd leave out the part about how he likes Rogan and thinks he's a good guy”
Best special I’ve seen in a while. He’s been making the podcast rounds. Had a good one with Maron and Dan Lebatard
Jeselnik’s JRVP podcast was so good in its heyday. The book recommendations were always amazing, I think I read all of his top 10 from last year.
He was on Maron and talked about how he hates podcasts. Wasn’t a jokey interview, seemed like a straightforward honest interview.
him souring on podcasting was random and kind of a bummer tbh there’s a was never like the rest in that they’ve never had a guest and the riffs were very jeselniky and not cookie cutter comedy he did reveal that he broke up with his girlfriend earlier this year and i’m sure there’s a little depression contributing to his sudden turn
JRVP is one of my favorite pods. He’s been dancing around quitting it for a while. At first it seemed like a repeating bit, but it’s pretty clear now it’s going to be dead. Bummer. But on the other hand, probably lucky it’s gone as long as it has. Anthony probably signing himself up to pay for Greg’s kid’s college
greg’s got a lot more going on than just saving for college apparently medical issues in his family are what split up atnfl as a listener i liked it because he’s the smarmy type of football analyst that i hate and heed the call is an easier listen with out him not sure exactly what it was since that’s the most that came out and i didn’t care to dive any deeper
Watching the Jeselnik special with my wife tonight. He gets through the underage girls bit and my wife goes… Ugh that’s enough The next words out of his mouth… This is usually when the audience loses its patience.
Kendrick Lamar manufactured beef for clout - but it's pretty wild to see. He talked about having sex with Kendrick for a while and I think may have made it so weird that it doesn't even warrant a response. Showcased on “wacced out murals,” K.Dot said, “Don’t let no white comedian talk about no Black woman, that’s law.” Fans quickly connected the reference to Schulz, citing his frequent remarks on Black culture in podcasts FLAGRANT and The Brilliant Idiots. Nonetheless, the comedian responded to Kendrick on his latest episode of FLAGRANT, labeling him a hypocrite due to hip-hop’s underlying misogyny.
Made a "joke" about how he could rape Kendrick if he wanted to because he was deeply triggered after getting called out on "Wacced Out Murals"
He talked about banging Kendrick for......a while. As mentioned, he may have made it so weird that it doesn't get a response.
Who among us hasn't tried to roast someone back by threatening sexual violence against them? Very normal reaction from Schultz
That's just dumb - if I did a straw poll at the store who had the best recent sets Schulz would likely be a in the top 3 at any point in time. He's a great standup and crowd work comedian - he's just annoying to listen to on a podcast and repeats himself constantly when it's not scripted and ends up talking about wanting to have sex with Kendrick.
speaking of unfunny comedians. Yom Seguras new set fucking sucks. becoming rich and powerful really fucks up your brain and changes you. Also pumping out podcast instead of working on new material and starting businesses unrelated to comedy makes you bad at your real job
I'm around comedians pretty regularly and it feels like I haven't even heard him mentioned since the Brady roast.
Saw Des Bishop last night in Seattle. Great set, he was a lot of fun. I had no clue he was married to Hannah Berner
