Mine says 80% when i check under settings. I’m on it periodically all day and never need a mid day charge. I’m not watching videos or running a hot spot or anything though so maybe I’m a different “use case” than some
Your Apple Watch can now replace your TV remote https://9to5mac.com/2024/09/19/your-apple-watch-can-now-replace-your-tv-remote/
Happy iPhone day. Mine is out for delivery supposedly before noon. backing up current phone. I purposely haven’t upgraded to ios18. I recall upgrading before and having an issue because the new phone didn’t have the latest iOS and it would not transfer until they were the same. Figured I’d wait.
New phones will always have the new iOS. You might have had an incremental update like 17.0.1 that the new phone didn’t have but it had 17.0. If that happens, just setup the new phone as new without transferring anything, update it, then erase it which gets you back to square one on the setup.
Delivered and set it up. It was iOS 17….. after 4 hours to transfer I had to upgrade. to be clear. I don’t know if it copied the iOS from old iPhone.
nah, you cant transfer the operating system it just wont let you transfer data from a higher OS to a lower OS
My 16 Pro Max had iOS 18 out of the box. Transferred my 14 Pro Max (which I had updated to iOS 18 already) over with no issues at all.
How are we feeling about dark mode on ios18? I’m 1 day in and can’t tell if I like it or not (I’m generally a dark mode on all apps kind of guy).
I’m a big dark mode guy. But the apps icons so dark I find it difficult at times in sunlight. I also may try the follow the sun option
16 pro max battery not encouraging up at 4:30 to 5:30 uber to airport. Used phone for podcast and Sonos. Uber ride with misc browsing and 10 min phone call. Here it is 7am and I am at 60% battery I am finding I lose network on this phone. WiFi or cell it shows full strength but for example on WhatsApp it says connecting. Spinning. Or Reddit won’t load. So I turn it to airplane mode then back. Works fine maybe it’s oddly searching for network killing battery. Unsure but monitoring if I need to file a case. remembered I am using 18.1 beta with apple intelligence. Betas are known for battery issues. Could be it.
The best thing to do for long term battery life is to not allow your phone to charge to 100% and to keep it from going to 0% as well. The battery is under the most strain when it is over 80% or under 20%. Realistically, I’d prolly just set max charge to 80% and not worry too much about the lower tail. If you plan on upgrading every year or two, none of this probably matters. But if you want to keep a phone 3+ years, it’s probably worth trying.
Anyone go from a 13 to 16? Thinking about making the change but I’m currently on the fence. Battery capacity is at 86% so that’s not really a concern, just seems to be slow.
15 pro max is just about a year old. iOS 18 has made battery life noticeably worse and lots of connectivity issues. Have not googled it, just here to complain
Have the same with new 16 pro max. But also on iOS beta with apple intelligence. I’ve had issues when I leave house on WiFi. It shows cellular connection but no data service unless I cycle airplane mode. also auto correct is much worse.
Picked up one of these cases for 16 Pro Max and highly recommend. it’s way better than Apples own clear case, and I dig the little kickstand feature on this one. Other cases have them but I think they usually look terrible. This one is so much better integrated and you wouldn’t even know what it was if you didn’t see it open. Also this same brand makes some great stuff overall. Their Smart Keyboard for iPad is like 1/3 the price of everyone else and is really really good. https://a.co/d/bodGmWr
My AirPod Pro Gen2s started making a high pitched chirping noise. Mainly the left bud. Virtually unwearable. I told Apple and they quoted me $300 to fix.
Apple knows they can’t repair them, so they quote a price higher than replacement. /conspiracy theory
